This is just shocking to me!, is it the same 'Adobe Genuine Services' popup? Is it phoning home and then falling over? (I'm probably talking outdated rubbish, but there used to be a problem for me back in day with Creative cloud vs Windows firewalls/security etc causing all sorts of mayhem freezing)

Agree. This thread seems to be ballooning since I wrote it, I'm glad its not just me! I simply don't get a say on which version I have to use. Nevermind people who are limited by older hardware or just happy where they are with an older version they know is reliable/can use legacy fonts etc. The Windows and Multi screen users though, I'm shocked. Its full on breaking things.

Yeah I have given it a go with mixed results (the low res thing? there is threads about this though, I didn't deep dive into why). However I've found the remove/healing, object selection tools greatly improved so thats helped make my life easier to at least try make a nice job of things. I also use a fair bit of stock, so the moral side of the ai images via stock is a struggle for me, I want the artists to at least get a credit/paid (though its literally pence).

The AGS (Adobe Genuine Services), is the only thing I can think to work around. And the irony of that is just beyond. I really hope someone has a simple fix. Did tech support report it as a bug their end?

Looks like they updated the Design/tone of the pop-up (pushing that 'ai'). Ridiculous isnt it?

I'm now on cc2024 (v25.12 photoshop) I was 'up to date' for all of 5mins!, and have this to look forward too again!? Yes exactly, so many of us are tied to 1 or 2 older versions due to business use case. Absolutely agree, Adobe is behaving as if Photoshop is purley a consumer product, (yet expecting bang up to date hardware from their pro-sumer/student/hobby users), I've seen the thread on the 'upselling' window thats popping up for single app/photo plan subbers. I find it embarrassing actually. I'm assuming no pop up via the other apps?

Sonoma is ok for 2018ish Macs onwards I think? Its annoying how it creeps up...seems so wasteful.

Yeah I though it was a bit aggressive, its why I posted, it got my back up, & disrupted work. I think a smaller popup, not an massive alert, instead saying 'cc2022 is not going to be supported after XX date (or whatever), please upgrade if possible, subject to system requirements.'. would have had better clarification. Hopefully it'll stop appearing.

The switch in Apple hardware from intel is going to effect a lot of people also, cc2022 ceasing support feels a bit soon, when there are alternatives for photoshop for many. I was an earlyish adopter to apple silicon and adobe took their sweet time, I've had to run in rosetta in Indesign since 2022 for reasons beyond my control, so to end support feels a bit much.

I was reading about the 'credit' situation for using the 'ai' features? I upgrade in next two weeks (whooop), so I can see all this for myself. I haven't tried Affinity but I think that would have been my first stop if I wasn't tied to Adobe, though it being sold to Canva is concerning. Thanks for reading!

They really are!, the alert is enormous, a good quarter of my display. I can deal with a lil' pop up. Its similar to when Adobe suspects a non licensed version, very invasive.

Via Adobe stock? Agree, luckily I have no use case for it, grim times we live in.

I'm a Editorial Designer I use Adobe PS, ID, AI, etc for my living, its not a hobby. Like many Designers I have to use custom plugins for font servers and clould based apps via my main employer/client. Which means being tied to old versions longer than I'd like (same goes for Apple OS). Today for the 2nd time on opening a document I have this super unhelpful alert appear (see link). As a paid up 'all apps' subscriber, I have no words.... Anyone else having the same? Any easy way to stop this? OR do I resort to deleting the Adobe Genuine (removed) which I assume is the guilty party? Thanks for Reading!

It's so frustrating, I wonder if its the 'new' preference's bug come back to haunt for 3 versions?, I can get away with updating Ai and Ps but not Indesign. the companies I work for are at least a version behind as a rule. Well it was worth posting! Thanks for the reply.

I'm having this too with Ventura via InDesign/Photoshop & Illustator 2022 (since upgrading from 2021, older version due to custom plugin within Indesign for main client) I do not use the 'application frame', so no fix there. I have to reset workspace every time I open the apps. I have M1 max Studio with external mointor via the studio display (I know right fancy pants).... would love to know if a fix due soon as ill be stuck like this for at least a year before clients upgrade to CC23.
