I just started having the same issue out of the blue my brushes started having spacing ussues.  It happened right after I made a new brush, then ste spacing was off for all my brushes.  I quit Photoshop and installed an update and it didn't help.  I did just click on clear brush controls and that seems to have fixed the issue.   ...
