This is an extremely challenging case because it's difficult for even me (a person) to understand, since I was not there. I wonder if you can use the strength slider to create a composite that achieves the result you want?

Lightroom support is planned in the future (as mentioned in the blog). Light sources and other saturated regions create holes, and are therefore are better removed using various hole-filling tools, such as Generative Remove. After applying those tools to this example, I believe you can obtain a high quality end result.

Please refer to the blog, which explains the types of reflections that the tool currently removes. Small reflections like glasses will not be removed. Ideally the reflection should fill most of the view, and thus be blocking you from viewing your subject.

We note in the blog that remove reflections will not hallucinate content to fill in saturated light sources (etc). Instead you will get noisy content, like you see in this result. You can use generative fill if you'd like to fill those holes. I would suggest that you open the original and cleaned images as layers in a 16-bit PS file to blend them into a composite that gives you a nice result with fewer reflections and artifacts.

As I understood it, your original post was asking about a photo for which the remove reflections was totally disabled, preventing you from running it at all. So I replied that it "works just fine" because I was able to run remove reflections. I was not commenting on the result.

The file you've linked is a JPG. If you'd like me to verify that the tool works on your original DNG or CR2 file, you'd need to send those.

Hi Chapps. I'm the lead researcher for the reflection removal feature. Since you are a heavy user of our tool, it would be great if you could continue to share examples of your successes and particularly the failures in RAW format. That would be most useful for testing purposes.

Another user used wetransfer.com to share a large RAW file. I hope you will consider sharing, because (so far) none of the reports that certian RAW formats do not work have been true. You would be the first person, to my knowledge, to show that there is indeed a RAW format that we cannot handle. After all, this is ACR which already works on all RAW files. If you feel certain that this RAW file has some issue, I hope you will help us find the problem by sharing the RAW file so we can test it and identify the cause of any issue.

If there are RAW files that you believe are not working, please share them here. I would like to know. Make sure to confirm that you can download the RAW from your own post---many users post raws but actually I have not been able to download from their post.

In Lightroom you must "open as a smart object in photoshop" and then double-click the layer to open Adobe Camera RAW. This solution is variously reported in other posts here.
