I'd dupe the layer, blur it enough to reduce (Gaussian, Median or whatever works), change the layer blend mode to darken, apply a midtone adjustment to lighten slightly and or playing with blend if sliders. Finally, creating an "edge mask" using find edges filter, or glowing edges filter or a custom convolution filter matrix is another option to isolate the darkening of the halos to height contrast edges. This could all be automated/semi-automated into an action.
I haven't tested, but the Camera Raw Filter sharpening has an edge mask feature and it may support negative values.

Wowsers! My feature request is approaching the 8 year mark! Perhaps a screenshot of PhotoLine might serve as inspiration. Compare Photoshop's tiny Curves editor with PhotoLine's infinitely scalable Curves editor:   ...and why is it still not possible to work with LAB or HSV in the curve editor while in RGB image mode? Sigh...

I suggest adding a Reset button for the Freeze Mask in Liquify. Yep, we can use the "eraser" or click "Cancel" to quit the workspace and then load it again via the menu. But removing an unwanted mask in 1 click would be faster and easier.

Grouping paths or alphas would be useful for heavy users, I imagine that backwards compatibility might be a problem for the programmers.

@Ivan Zajats
This is something that is controlled by Khoros, the forum software, and not by Adobe.
When a reply has four "likes" it becomes a "top reply" until another post gets four likes and becomes the next "top reply".
For my part, I just ignore it.

i have sample Problem please help
@dharmik34118778nqmv
Where's the sample?
This is a feature request and there's no such feature.
What there is are workarounds.
One can store the original filename in XMP metadata (depending on filetype and possibly length). Then the file can be shortened and opened into Photoshop. After the files are closed, the original filenames can then be restored from the preserved filename metadata.
This can be performed using Adobe Bridge's Batch Rename tool or a Photoshop script. Another option is to store the names in a text file and use that for renaming using a script or operating system commands.

As a timelapse and landscape photographer, I need this feature so much! Birds suddendly appear in different parts of the frame & look like rubbish in the final video. I know some tricks in AE/Pr how to remove them fast with the Lighten blend mode by duplicating the same footage and moving it 1 frame forward, but it doesn't always work perfectly. It often gives artifacts. Being a perfectionist, I do it manually frame by frame in PS with the Spot Healing brush. Can you imagine how time consuming it is? 300-500+ images to clean... At sunrise the birds wake up and are very active. Almost the same thing with the sunsets. That's why I need the feature like birds removal. I'm sure it would be useful for many landscape photographers. P.S. I can even provide a few timelapse series (hundreds of shots) to train your algorithms.

This is not necessarily true for long-dead historical figures. For example, someone might want to try something like George Washington, seated at a table, playing cribbage with King George III or Charles Darwin, Gregor Mendel, and Thomas Aquinus, seated in leather chairs at a luxurious 19th-century men's club, enjoying conversation while drinking brandy and smoking cigars.

@D Fosse, surprisingly you're right, why does it say "Sample ALL layers" then? anyway, we also have dodge&burn above, which I prefer doing with black & white brush on a blank layer in Soft light, so it definitely affects the healing.

Rasterizing layer styles does not change blending or the cached way previews are blended when zoomed out in Photoshop.

Yeah. "Write mails to the White House"))) No, well, me need to vote 🙂 Now I'll look for how to do this. There, I suppose, you need to write a whole "dissertation". A complete explanation of why I need this.

Yes the ability to collapse a single active layer group is very useful.
By @deidatianwang
Indeed!
It drives me crazy when a feature is added, but no "opposite" of that feature. Surely both are useful!
So rather than only:
Collapse All Groups
There should also be native features for:
Expand All Groups
Collapse Active Group
Expand Active Group
And would it be greedy to wish to separate and have independent the behaviour of Artboards from Layer Groups?
Collapse All Artboards
Expand All Artboards
Collapse Active Artboard
Expand Active Artboard

Thank you Mr Marsh. I ran your FS actionwhich resulted in a folder with high & Low Freq layers only. (perhaps I made an arror when palying the action?)
No, that is all that the action was created to do, create the LF & HF layers inside a set/group.
The FS action I have creates more useful layers -as an advanced FS layer set.
It wasn't clear to me that you were using another action. Can you share the action so that I can see what the "more useful" layers are which make it advanced?
My question was simple how to Re-Record that action substituting Median for the Gaussian flter -with a pause to set the amount of Median Filter applied.
By @FauxtoGuy
Open an image. Highlight the GB step in the action and press record. Run the median filter with the required default start point value. Stop recording. Delete the GB step. To set the pause while the filter is open, click on the action step modal control icon as previously illustrated in the topic. If this isn't what you are looking for, you can insert a stop command using the action panel menu.
