FYI - in Windows Ctrl + R opens a Windows Run Box, and does not load files into Camera RAW when Bridge is open.  I had to use the intuitive menu to get them all loaded into Camera RAW. @Sameer K  -  Same behavior with previous versions.  I'm not taking the time to try a beta version.  Same behavior whether the folder is on an external drive or a local drive. I do normal things like adjust contrast and crop.  One trobleshooting step I took was to try and find the process holding up the file to kill it, but I was unable to do so.  In the past, I've played around with killing explorer alltogether and then re-launching a new instance.  A few times, this freed up the folder, but now, it no longer does. This is a duplicate of my reply two posts up with some edits.  Mods, Can somebody please edit that post and replace it with the below? Ty I figured it out!! Step 1 duplicate layer. Step 2 – unselect the original background layer and only select the layer named “Background Copy.” Step 3 – remove background on the layer named “Background Copy.” Step 4 – Select the layer named “Background Copy” and make adjustments.  Note - one must select the layer icon on the left in order for all the adjustments to be available. Step 5 – duplicate the original background layer again.  Lasso around the rotated subject in the layer named “Background Copy 2”.  Right click around the selection – content aware fill.   Apply – OK Step 6 – Make edits to Background Copy 2. Step 7 – Select the layers called “Background Copy 2” and “Background Copy.”  This shows both edits. Step 8 – save as jpg. I very much appreciate your perseverance.  I think this took so long because you had assumed that I knew some Photoshop basics, such as what a selection is.  I did not. I got the full automation working after also recording the last step of me saving the jpg as the highest quality. There are times when I come home from birdwatching sessions and have a lot of sets of 7-shot bursts that that I’m going to want to crop.  You have no idea how much post-processing time you saved me.  In addition, the output of similar shots will now be standardized.   Drives not recommended for scratch disk Thumb drives I had assumed that thumb drives would work but were not recommended due to slow access speeds, as in the past, I stopped a transfer to one  due to the unbearable slow copy speed.
