Hi all, I walk in to a problem. I use photoshop on the daily for files with max 10 layers wich works good. But now for another project i have to make an animation and i found out you can also use Photoshop for that. So now i render an image with external software, then paste the images as layer into a single PS-doc, then i get the popup with rotate-mirror-cancel-accept, i click accept and it takes about 3 seconds to correctly post it. This is normally for my 10 layers no problem. But this animation has 1000+ frames, so i had to sit there for half an hour with my finger on the enter button just to paste my images in PS. And thus i wondered if there was a faster solution to this. Thanks! -Nick (windows, PS 2024 and PS 2025).

I will have to render out a new image without company sensitive products, and within the render line up i have at the moment that will take a few days. But then ill do that.

I got a lot of handy tips here, but i still dont know how to actually do a single one of these, anyone got a bit more info on how to achieve this?

Thanks! It seems like it is about the same action as Anshul suggested. But how do you easily mask out area's? Is there like an inverted eraser where you can add layer material?

You are completely right! But it is indeed only on specific places, background frame is the one with the textures that need to get blended to an even color. But i tried your second option, the one for precision, only it affects my entire image, could you maybe give a tiny bit more explanation? Thanks -Nick

Hi, I have made about 40 image's wich take about 1,5 hours to render per image with the texture/ pattern as shown below. But now my client does not want this texture/ pattern anymore but just a grey blended texture. I always use PS to edit this post production. But is there a clever way to also accomplish this job? I myself first thought about the fade tool, but this does not get the desired result. Someone got any tips? Thanks! -Nick

Yes, the problem did not lay with ID after all. My PDF's looked the same as my ID doc, but prints still looked terrible. After having mechanics from the printer manufacturer over and spending hours researching it, it turned out it was one stupid small setting. This new printer, in combination with the setting "full color" and using the extended color pallete i used gave this deformation. Not when i put the printer setting to "combine/auto" the results come back acceptable, still not great, but acceptable, Thanks everyone for the amazing replies, and when i have problems in the future i will look to this post for advice! -Nick

Hi, I would like to replicate the pattern as shown below. It are 4 lines, with one crossing the other ones, but to give it a good contrast i would like to have a border/outline in white as shown below. Is this possible to achieve? Thanks! -Nick (OS windows - latest version - ID 2025)

Thank you very much! My apologies, with the term "interactive" images i meant linked images. I thought that linked images or plainly said "images that chane when you edit them" only could be achieved after following a few select steps, but appeareantly this is the standard from what i understand now. Thanks for clearing that up! Also thanks so much for the informational GIF, that awnsered all my questions within a single GIF! Amazing, and thank you so much! -Nick

Hi, I have worked out a few pages within InDesign, im working on manuals. But when i print those pages it looks nothing like what my InDesign file shows me. It looks like there is a greyscale shader applied on some of the darker surfaces from my doc, what gives it a reallystrange look. But my settings on the printer, on my printer driver, and on my I.D. all have "full color" moe selected. I use InDesign 2025, my OS is Windows and i use the latsest version of Windows. The printer is a brand new Kyocera taskalfa 2554ci, wich is about 3 days old so im not to familliar with it. Anyone know what to do? Thanks! -Nick

Hi everyone. I have imported a few .PSD images to make my work manuals, but they all show this small little line on there the most outer bounding box is. How i i remove/hide this? Because for me it is really disctracting and it gives me a hard time having a complete view of the page. The stroke is already set to 0, and the color is transparent, so it is not a stroke problem. Apologies for the red color, but i dont know how HQ feels about me putting the brand new manuals on the internet. Thanks already! -Nick

Before all these amazing people responded, i had already achieved it, but with a huge workaround. I am originally an engineer by trade, so i took the engineering way to achieve it. First i measured the size of all squares within the frame. Then i calculated the exact middle coordinates of each square. Then i placed the squares and set the stroke to 0. Then i calculated the exact X and Y coordinates of the middle of the square as opposed to the absolute 0 X-Y. And then i filled in those coordinates. And then finally when all "skeletons" of the frame parts where into the desired place, i adjusted the stroke to what i wanted them to be. (It was only after i had everything into place when i figured out that if your stroke is 0 the square's snap into place). It works, but as i said, probably a huge workaround. -Nick

No, i render 3D scenes with multiple views, these views are 2D, those rendered images get edited in PS and then placed in InDesign.

Thanks man! But i read somewhere that InDesign uses "interactive" images. For example that when i use an PhotoShop doc and ill edit that, that it will update automatically in InDesign. But those persons suggested that i use File -> Place, but if i convert my regulair square to a grapic square will it also keep its "interactive" properties? Thanks!

Maybe he understood me wrong instead. It was quite the old-timer i must say. Also when i asked where i could locate them, he just directed me to the color management tab within my windows printer tab (wich is where i took the screenshot from).

Thanks Dave, But the strange thing is that a mechanic from Kyocera was here today, and he told me that the printer does support ICC-profile's. Maybe he was wrong, but where could i potentially find it? Thanks -Nick

Hi everyone, I have looked deeper into the matter and i now know a bit more. My printer does support ICC-profiles, and is pixel based. My printer supports about 16 profiles, so there you guys know maybe more about then me. these are the top ones, the last are also HP OJ variations. And the paper i use is universal multifunctional a4 paper. The Navigator 80 g.m-2 silky touch ultra-bright to be exact. Maybe someone now knows what to use? Adobe Support really does not help me much Thanks! -Nick

Thanks Jane, this does clear up a lot. Only i dont see to many options here, only for subdivisions over the length of the document. But i want to create a layout as shown below. Would i create that with regulair squares then? and how do i "constrain" those into place? thanks

Thanks for the additional information Jane. Only the link you posted are in reference to non-printing gridline's, those are indeed the ones i also found, but i want the exact opposite, grid lines you do see when printing. But i dont want to get in trouble for speaking about other software in the PS forums, but you can check my post on the InDesign forums, where i explain it in detail. making solid layout/grid? - Adobe Community - 14980738 Thanks! -Nick

Wow, thanks for the detailed explanation! This sounds like it might actually turn out like a great financial decision! When i have figured out how to make a hard-grid/layout within InDesign, or when someone on the InDesign forum has a reply i can go test it out! I will keep you updated. Thanks man! -Nick

Hi, As many of you guys here suggested i am now using InDesign to make work-manuals from my 3D-rendered image's. But rendered image's are not perfect, far from it, but InDesign isnt really the tool for photo editing. Is there not a way to render an image --> Edit it within PS --> Put it (still starp/crisp) in InDesign? Would this even be possible? And if so, would my images still be a high quality or would that drop drastically? And yes, i use pixel based rendering and not vector based rendering. I hope someone can help me out! -Nick

Hi everyone! I just downloaded InDesign! For my work i am making work-manuals kind of in LEGO-style. I render out 3D-images in an 3D program, then i edit those images out in PhotoShop and then my next step will be making a book in InDesign. First i did that all within PhotoShop, but the people there told me that PS is not really the tool for that, and that InDesign would make it a lot cleaner. So i already have a layout from my previous booklets, but now i have to make that whitin InDesign. This is the layout, does anyone maybe have an informational video on youtube? because i would not really know where to start looking? Or maybe its not that hard as it seems to me and does someone know how to make this within a few easy steps? Thanks already! -Nick

You are amazing man! Only half of the terms you used i cannot find in any back in any of the manauls nor can i find them online. But somewhere these days one of the mechanics from the supplier comes around, do you have any tips of what terms/settings are neccesary to know if i want to print in high quality? First off i will ask about what printer profile it is and if it supports icc profile's. Anything more i should ask about? Thanks man! -NM

Hi all! Recently my company got new printers, but now my prints look ridiculous. When i first started using photoshop a few months ago, you all knew what to do to get the best prints. So could you maybe help me out once again? I use rendered pixel based image's in a booklet style (yes i know photoshop isnt the best tool for this, next month ill get InDesign). But for the remainder of the month ill still have to print, so does anyone know the best settings for my new printer? Its the "kyocera taskalfa 2554ci". And these are my print settings: Apologies its not in english. But i cant change that within a few minutes. Thanks already! -Nick
