Auto save can get corrupt too. Reset preferences: see how that goes. Use the option Save a copy to make backups.

What a joke...how can it be resolved if it's not resolved. It should be reopened and indicated that it's not resolved. I'll start a new thread but ...come on. It's a problem today and this is the thread that comes up when you search google for a ressolution.

The solution to this is very simple. I switched to Davinci Resolve, it has a mute button.

This is basically just the way things are at this point. I've just accepted it. Set projects to auto-save every 5 minutes or so and move on with your life. I know, it's unacceptable but they'll never fix it at this point. Just happened to me this afternoon, lost like 15 minutes of project changes. AMD 2700x, 32GB RAM, WIN10, GTX 1080 Ti, everything up to date.
