Photoshop native PSD if fine for most files.
If you have editable text in the Photoshop file, save as Photoshop PDF to keep the text vector (sharp/crisp).

Soft returns/line breaks are almost always something to avoid. At most, they are a spot/local fix when there is no better or efficient solution.
They should absolutely not be used as part of a regular formatting flow, as you intend.

Are the styles based on different parent styles?
Use both document the same fonts of the same manufacturer?

Are you referring to the comment on how the Mask was started?
If so keep in mind that how a Layer Mask will create »new« content (for example when the Layer is moved or transformed or the Canvas is extended) depend on its original creation.
• Adding a Layer Mask without a Selection in the Layers Panel will provide a white Layer Mask, filling or painting it black will hide the layer on the canvas but the Mask’s off-canvas-content is/will be white.
So moving it will result in white sections appearing – which may not be a problem in some cases, but in others (if the Layer itself has off-canvas-content, if resampling happens, …) it can cause unintended regions of the Layer to become visible.
• If a Layer Mask is based on a Selection its off-canvas-content will be black, so even if the Layer extends beyond the canvas and it is scaled no unintended regions should become visible.

Hi @hendy_5450
Thanks for reaching out! As Monika mentioned, we’d need a bit more detail to understand exactly what you're looking for. I hope your issue is resolved, but if not, please share more details about your workflow, and we’d be happy to assist further!

If an image looks like the one you have, then it's likely not grouped, because it likely has been autotraced.

Hey @hendy_5450 Hope you are doing good ! The easiest way to create a realistic shadow for the donkey is: 1) Duplicate the donkey layer: Place it below the original. 2) Convert to Black Silhouette: Use hue/saturation (reduce lightness) or Fill with Black. 3) Blur the shadow: Apply Gaussian Blur for softness. 4) Distort for Perspective: Use transform > Distort/skew to align with the ground. 5) Adjust Opacity: Lower Opacity and use multiply blend mode for realism. This keeps the shadow natural and integrated into the scene. Thankyou!

Hendy,
1) I believe this answer from Bobby may give a glimpse of what is needed to ensure clear text (and other artwork) and how print based advice can go against it,
https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator-discussions/pixelated-linked-files-after-exporting-for-screens/m-p/14503451#M401887
2) PNG24 gives you a full set of colours, just like JPEG, where as PNG8 gives you a limited set of 256 colours, the same as GIF, just as Monika said. So no reason to consider it (for decades).
It is quite simple to multiply 8 times, or 16, times, or whichever number, with the Save for Web just by multiplying (*8 or *16 or whichever number) in the Image Size window.
3) You can see more about it here, under Import, export, and save,
https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/user-guide.html/illustrator/using/default-keyboard-shortcuts.html
and you can also look at some of the other subjects.

Hi @hendy_5450 As @jane-e and @kglad have mentioned the ability to sync files/use CC drive was discontinued over a year ago. You can still have files from our products save to the cloud as cloud documents. This article gives a good overview https://adobe.ly/3F62WIE If you're not sure how to work with cloud documents to finish your current project you might want to reach out and work with our support directly for help. They can be reached here:

I don't have any clearer explanations left to share. You don't seem to grasp that there are two completely separate settings involved. What I and others have described here, repeatedly, works perfectly and with just a few settings... if you follow the instructions.

By going to Layout > Table of Contents > (be sure to click More Options) and make choices there.
In this dialog box, you give InDesign the choice of what paragraph styles to look for and gather. Further, once that text is gathered, you also are making choices of how to dress up the resulting text thread with Table of Contents paragraph styles, so that it looks like a table of contents. Something many people forget to do is to Save a style (really a preset) so that the InDesign document can update its Table of Contents to look the same way as before: Text gathered and dressed with styles that lay the text out to look like a Table of Contents.
In summary, InDesign hunts and gathers based on styles; then dresses the result with other styles; then remembers all your choices in the process by saving a named style, which isn't a style but rather a preset.

Yes, the short answer would be "learn how to use ID's datamerge function, preferably before you engage a project that would make one of the experts here have to pause and think through the workflow." (s) Zathras.

I think you've mixed up two of your threads here, but in the dialg you are showing the first field should be the name of your bold character style, not the paragraph style, and the last field should say Tab, not Words.
Something like: Bold up to 1 Tab

Check out FontSelf at https://www.fontself.com/
It works with Illustrator and Photoshop; it's inexpensive ($39 US for AI, $59 or both); it's relatively easy to use; and can create your own font. Then use a character style (possibly automatec with GREP styles) in InDesign.

What error?
If you're on Mac - and it "was working before" and you're trying to import images:
https://helpx.adobe.com/uk/indesign/kb/user-dictionaries-missing-hfs-path-dropped.html
You need to change file paths.
Or you might have some extra line breaks in wrong places.
Or wrong format / encoding.
