This morning, I attempted to open a Photoshop file to make some final adjustments before submitting it for a school assignment. However, as soon as I attempted to open the Photoshop file, I was greeted with an error message stating, "Could not complete your request because your computer does not provide the required AVX and AVX2 instruction sets needed to process video." As a result, the program will not open the file regardless of how many times I try or methods I use. However, when I attempt to open Photoshop files from previous assignments, they open without any issues. For context, the file consists of exactly this; my background image & clipping mask, black & white adjustment layer, threshold adjustment layer, and 5 color fill layers with clipping masks. To my knowledge, there is nothing in the file that would require video extensions or anything like that. I was just working in the file last night with no issues whatsoever and did not do anything out of the ordinary with or to the file or my computer then until now. So I don't understand why it is suddenly having an issue with opening the file now. So, why this issue is happening? And, furthermore, what I should do? Do I have to now restart the entire project from scratch? And, if so, how to I prevent this issue from happening again? (Screenshot of the issue is included)
