This may be a dumb question, but I don't have an answer for it and has always bothered me. Why doesn't the transform-move input measurements follow the the x/y axis mathematical chart we were all taught in school? Positive numbers should move the object up and to the right, but it moves to the right and down?? horizontal is correct, but vertical seems backwards. Thoughts?

Seems Illustrator is having some issues with linked images. Try embedding all links to resolve any altered placement issues.

I'll just come to the conclusion that toggling layer view between outline/preview now updates the thumbnail as well. I've never seen this before but guess I'll have to get use to it because less than 1% of users probably asked for it.

Another example... Issue does not show up initially. After switching views between preview and outline mode, Control clicking eye in layers and moving objects around, thumbnail will eventually change to outline mode. Looks like a glitch so I do apologize thinking you int entionally made this change.

Issue is present on upgrade to 29.3.1 Running windows 10 ( might be the issue) Looking to upgrade this PC asap as we found gamebar and snipping tool unable to record. But can't see a simple preview thumbnail in layers folder being affected by operating system, but I could be wrong.

Working with AI for 20+ years and these slight changes are what piss me off the most. Within the layers panel, objects with no fill or stroke are showing up in the layer thumbnail in outline mode. A quick glance to this thumbnail assures no stroke or fill are present in this cut layer, which is neccessary for output to printer. Now it shows object in outline mode which looks like a black stroked object. Is there anyway to view all layer thumbs in preview mode like the past versions? Is this a bug?

pdf's come from many different customers, so I don't have control over how they are setup. But it is good to know that I can always try opening first to see if multiple pages can be placed at once. normally just open with acrobat and extact as singles, then place all singles into illustrator. Not a big deal.

I used the 'Open' and the dialog box appeared only one time. All pdfs tried were multipage. I'm aware that using 'place' will only let one selected page to be placed.

Tried about a dozen different multiple page pdf's and 'import dialog box' only appeared on one when opening. Must have something to do with how it was originally set up. (customer files, so I have no clue) Sure wish the place command would allow all to be placed...

instead of red lines, make shapes as shown. select all red shapes and combine (ctrl + 8). With red shapes combined and above green shape, select all and subtract using pathfinder. (see pathfinder window selection on right of screen). hope this helps
