I tried to run the tablet on bluetooth instead and haven't experienced crashes since, even after plugging the tablet back in and running it through the USB. @CShubert Sorry, I shouldn't have said "crash" in the post, they're freezes - the program will stop responding and give me the pinwheel until I force quit it.
