I believe it because this is the worst update yet. I can't even explainwhat is wrong. Its just like everything doesn't work normally anymore. I am very close to giving up on adobe completely.. This AI sucks and you will never gaslight me into believing it is good.

This is awful beyond words. I rolled back to 26.1 and even that does not work. Object selection is completely useless and it will not let me switch between tools. I still get the slection. I have to close and not save changes and keep trying again over and over and over. BEYOND COMPLETELY USLESS.

No, this was not always a thing. Yes, it worked perfectly... for a little while. Any idea why this is happening? It is very annoying to say the least because you have to remember to clean up the edges in Mask mode. I have seen complaints about this going back to 2018 but no answer. BTW, everything about this 26.3 version sucks. It's like you are fighting tooth and nail against some sort of AI bot who will not allow you to do the simple thing. Like when I want to get out of selection mode and use the move tool.... NOPE CAN'T DO IT UNLESS I SHUT DOWN THE PROGRAM AND START OVER. I mean seriously, what is this? I have NVIDIA 3080 and XPS 8950. I could understand if I was using my old laptop. I had to abandon that convenience. But your ability to ruin this program vastly outtpaces my ability to keep up. I guess I need to spend ten grand on a computer to keep up with the changes. So before I waste more time uninstalling and reinstalling. Is there a fix for this or not? Like some setting or other.

My fear is we will be forced to upgrade eventually. And hten what. That is what happened with a much earlier version. Then I had to uninstall photoshop from that laptop because there was no way it was ever going to work.

My attachment is gone because it contained the offending word. Mother may I please have an answer to my question without it? Had you not completely deleted it, I would have renamed it. Now it will be a week before I can get back to reposting it because I do not have access to the computer. Talk about a bunch of snowflakes. Can't handle the truth about what people feel about these increasingly frustrating products.

I am not a professional but I think 26.3 is the very worst release ever. I am not sure what bugs were in 26.2 but I can assure you you they have not been fixed.. Simple things no longer work. It's a mess. I hate AI. I so not want it and it is making everything more difficult not less. But my questin was bumped because the attachment jpeg had a swear word in it. God forbid we all need to be polite too. It was all about how now I cannot drag a masked item over to a new document without a white box visible around the masked item. It's a ton of work to get rid of it and you basically have to bring up the mask in the new document and then remove pixels where the box is visible. Like when you mask the item, it neglects a tiny sliver of pixels around the edge of the frame. But I will never know the answer because I did not preface my question with "Mother May I." Talk about snowflakes. I may have to just roll back. How far back can I go before I get rid of all this awfulness. I had rolled back on a different laptop and I was told I could no longer use that version. And it will still relentlessly nag me to upgrade. SO WHAT IS THE SOLUTION HERE? Yes, I am a wee bit perterbed.

I have seen numerous threads on this but no way to actually fix and and fix it so it never comes back. Not sure if this is another one of your so-called "improvements" but it is annoying and it takes time because once I insert the mask into another document I have to redo the mask all round the edges of the selection. I mean c'mon!!! Please tell me this is a bug and not a thing. It is always like this. I have to update every few days and every update breaks something. As it is, the new photoshop version I just downloaded is positively the worst ever. Things that I used to do easily are now near impossible. My versin is 26.3 and it is the very worst ever. Took me four hours to do something that I thought would take a few minutes because everything is broken. Vew my attachment to see what I mean. I mean for the love of god PLEASE TELL ME WHY YOU DO NOT TEST THINGS BEFORE YOU DUMP THEM ON US. AND I AM USING A GOOD GRAPHICS PROCESSOR.

I have no idea where to post anything. But I just turned off auto update and do them manuallly one at a time. At least this way I am not dumpped into a time suck that I did not want when I am on my way out the door. That is better. Not great, but not wasting an entire eight hour day. I am on to new problems [the problems grow at an exponential rate... like wack a mole but with ten new problems arising for every one that you fix] now but am hesitant to post them since I have no idea where I can do that without annoying everyone and posting it in the wrong place. Seriously, I have almost nothing on this computer that should interfere with Photoshop. I purposely bought this computer so that it would not have one drive sync turned on. I use my laptop for that. I got rid of the horrible MacAfee [I have seen no sign of nag posts from it anyway as I have heard it is notoriously difficult to completely remove] I have Office and PowerDirector are the only things i have running on that machine. None of the other updates are this slow.

These updates were quicker on my laptop. On my desktop with 32GB of Ram and an NVIDIA 3080 Graphics card it takes an hour or more per app. There are not enough hours in the day to do updates. I have been waiting two hours to get started. How is this possible. Is it possible this is normal. I mean every time I try to use the app there are updates and it should not be taking this long. I mean, it has been stuck at 9% for twenty minutes. I am despairing of it ever finishing at this rate. This is so irritating.

I kind of gave up on using Photoshop on my laptop. The implication was that version 22 would not be supported and that it would get wonkier and allow viruses to enter my computer. Otherwise, I could ignore the nag. However, I am using it on my other computer wtih a really good graphics card and 32 GB of ram (like an NVIDIA 3080. I suppose you will tell me I need 64GB of RAM and the top of the line graphics card] Is it normal for updates to take over an hour? I mean it was never lie this before. i mean can literally do nothing with this app because by the time the updates are done, it is time for me to leave. I bought this computer specificallly so I would not have these problems but it doesn't seem to matter.

I really feel like this is false advertising because I was told that if the new version of photoshop did not work on my device I could roll back. Now I get this relentless nag reminder to upgrade. If the latest photoshop did not crash my device constantly I would. I mean, my device was good enough when I initiated my subscriptipn. Now basically you are telling me it is not. I have the latest version on a different desktop PC but that is not the point. It is simply unusable on my laptop but I want to use it there for basic less complicated things. And the same thing goes for Bridge. I hate this new bridge. Is this really the way it wil go down. That we have to buy a device that would be appropriate for NASA if we want to keep using your products?

I think I spoke too soon. I noticed when outside of adobe I would open a photo, which used to open with the windows photo viewer (which is fine when I am not working with adobe). I noticed that started opening in Photoshop. It never used to do this because I only want to open in photoshop from bridge. I changed that back to "use windows photo" as the default. Anyway, I went to the bridge prefs to check and they are still set to Photoshop.even though it is now opening everything in Lightroom again. I may try rolling back to yet an earlier version of Bridge. I mean, I know something weird like this happened before. I wish I know which versions of bridge work with which version of Photoshop I am running. I am running photoshop 22.2.0 because it is the only one that does not hang and crash my laptop. (Like I said, I have a recent installation on my desktop. I just want this for simple stuff.) I also just updated to windows 11 from windows 10. I thought it did not break anything, but maybe it broke this.

OK, I spoke to soon. What happened was, in windows explorer it started opening in photoshop. I changed that to windows pictures viewer. Now when I go to preferences, it still says open jpegs with Photoshop, but is back to opening them with Lighroom. Now I really have no idea what to do other than just write off Bridge as something I need to do without.

Thanks for the help. I finally located the shortcut to Photoshop 2021 and was able to insert that (would not let me select the program itself). That seems to have worked. I also rolled back to the second to last version of Bridge 13 becuase I really hate the new bridge layout anyway. So it was successful ultimately, but still a pain that you have to go through one at a time for jpg., jpeg, tiff, bmp, and all the various raw files to insert Photoshop 2021 for each and every one.

I was not exactly sure what you wnated to see. However, I wanted to show that when I try to select photoshop from the dropdown menu it takes me to file explorer. The middle image shows it open in lightroom. (It's hard to see because it is a small black window against a black backdrop). Basically this is just a crappy old snapshot that I fixed up a while ago. I think I did it in photoshop, but I added the metadata in lightroom. However, I never experienced Bridge opening things in lightroom until today.

I went to the file extensions manager and I do not have the option to select photoshop from the dropdown menu. I am confronted with a "browse" option which basicallly opens up file explorer. I CANNOT FIND PHOTOSHOP IN THE ADOBE FOLDER. It is installed [version 22.2] SO WHERE THE HELL IS IT????????????????? However, I should not have to root around the programs file. It should be available as a menu item so I do not have to do this. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling. If the problem is that it does not work with my old photoshop why give us the option to roll back. And why upgrade bridge so it can just come along and wreck everything for the umpteenth time. I should mention that I have adobe running on two machines. My desktop has the latest stuff and it tends to work there on a Nvideo 3080 graphics card (although I have not tried Bridge to see if it is opening in Lightroom). However, running the latest photoshop on the laptop was buggy and freezing and crashing every few minutes and I gave up. Version 22.2 was working for things that are not too resource intensive. And now this. I am going to try rolling back to an earlier version of Bridge and if that does not work I will just have to throw in the towel. Why do we have the option to install on two different machines if the settings for one affect the settings on the other. Am I missing something here? Obviously, I am. It's especially galling because when I began using the software, I -- mistakenly -- thought it mioght be a good thing to open in Lightroom from Bridge and I was basically told I was an idiot for thinking that. I do not have th e option to select phtoshop. It opens up File explorer and I have to hunt around for a non-existant folder. It is truly frustrating the hell out of me and I am trempted to just give up and admit that I can never use bridge as my default file explorer ever again.

I am having this problem in Windows 11. I just upgraded and it seems to have wrecked everything. And I cannot even find theprogram file to change association manually. Bridge is now completely unusable because of this. Lightroom rreezes and crashes on my laptop which is why on this device I rolled back to photoshop 22.2. I am pretty sure this is the root of the problem but why give us the option to roll back if nothing else will work with it. I just don't get it. Otherwise, Photoshop is working normally so how can it not be available to link with bridge. I am so sick of these relentless improvements which do nothing but make everything worse.

I am highly dismayed by this because not only was I once derided as an idiot for suggesting that maybe Bridge should open things in Lightroom (I have revised that opinion) I was told it was not a thing. "Why on earth would you want to do that?" they said. Now I know. So why is Bridge suddenly opening everything in Lightroom. It seems like I am standing on an edifice made of sand and every hour of every day I need to throw out the old rule book and start completely over. I am not kidding when I say I spend 95% of my day troubleshooting things like this, and only 5% of my time actually accomplishing what I sent out to do. Thjis is why everything takes twenty times longer to do. Technology and telentless upgrades are quite literally taking us back to the stone age. When will the tipping point come when people get sick and tired of all this $#!+.

Now it crashes when I use the plain old "quick selection tool." Cannot even select and mask anymore. I had to downgrade the dpi to 150 from 300 and that helped, but I just do not dare use that tool anymore. I got Black Screen of Death and corrupted system files which had to be fixed on microsoft's end. I know I only have 8 gb of ram but it used to be pretty decent.

I was thinking a fresh install and a rollback would be in order. However, I do not want to run into the problem of having a newer "bridge" than photoshop version. No idea how that will affect lightroom which is the only thing working well with my external ssd. Like I said, I am not creating billboards for Times Square and do not exceed 300 dpi (like for a dumb christmas card). Thus I am not one of those people that has hundreds of saved settings that I go because I am not a "pro." In fact, I wanted it for lightroom keywording so I could learn that. The photoshop is just kind of a fun hobby for me. Would be more fun if I did not always crash my computer.. But thanks for the response, I will read it carefully.
