just in case anyone is wondering, I had the same issues recently but it turns out my wireless mouse just needed a new battery lol what gave it away was the fact that it started in photoshop, but then spread to my windows system entirely so I knew then it wasnt an adobe problem. I plugged in a different mouse and it went away so thats how I figured it out lol a simple solution that some might not think of immediately, hope that helps

yeah this bug has been here since like 2021 from what I can tell and it just happened to me once again, its crazy it hasnt been fixed yet. fingers crossed someone gets a hold of the right people to finally solve this once and for all

Hello, Just giving an update, I have completely uninstalled Snag it, the program I presumed was the issue since I had this same issue with it in the past, and I uninstalled and reinstalled all Adobe software and unfortunately the cntrl+D is still not working for any of the suite products. I tried using both Cntrl buttons as I found that suggestion online but neither is working. Please if anyone has any other suggestions let me know as I am totally out of Ideas. This seems to be a very prevalent problem the more I look online, I honestly don't know whether to blame Techsmith for Snag It or Adobe at this point but either way my advise to anyone reading this is IF YOU USE ANY ADOBE SOFTWARE, DO NOT DOWNLOAD SNAG IT!! use anything else to avoid this headache until they fix this...

Hello! thank you for your message it is comforting to know I'm not the only one lol yes it is constant for me now, I did have this issue about a month ago in After Effects and at that time the screenshot program Snag It was the culprit, so I shut it down both regularly and made sure it was gone in the task manager and that restored the shortcut, but now that isnt working for either photoshop, indesign or after effects. Based on that previous experience I am almost certain Snag it is the problem here, I just dont understand why shutting it down completely doesnt seem to be working anymore...

hello, yes I have confirmed the version, a screenshot is attached. I didnt find it in the help--about photoshop section so I instead went to help--system info and everything was listed out. I am on version 25.3.1 and my OS is Windows 10 64-bit

the Cntrl+D shortcut for deselect has stopped working for both Photoshop and Indesign after the 25.3.1 update. I have tried the following solutions below but nothing is working. I have resorted to re-assigning the hotkey to a different combo, but it is very cumbersome and would like to know if there is anything else I can try. Any suggestions are appreciated. Things I have tried: -unassigined hotkeys in my outside programs that are known to cause problems, snagit and camtasia, and made sure they are fully shut down before opening adobe software -tried the 'reset preferencees on quit' option -assigned the function to another key and reassigining it -uninstalling and reinstalling the software multiple times I dont know what else to try, if there is another program that may be causing this please let me know.

This is happening to me as well, I am on PC, running windows 10 pro. it is currently only happening wth photoshop, my font favorites are disappearing, seemingly at random. I have had no recent crashes and I updated to the latest version 24.3, which is when I believe this began to happen. please help!

I am currently experiencing this, I am trying to use the 'split layer' function, which is the default function for this shortcut. It just began this afternoon, Jan 26, 2023. I have both Camtasia and Snagit installed but I opened and closed both multiple times and the problem is still present. I attached a screenshot to show that the program recognizes that the shortcut exists, but just wont function for some reason.

I checked recently for updates and it seems that they have released some stability updates so I applied those and for the past couple of projects encoder has worked correctly 🙂 if the problem arises again I will try the other options in the link you sent, and will let you know if any of them help. thank you again!

Hello, I recently updated the adobe suite to the 2022 version and ever since I have been experiencing an issues with media encoder. When I export a project from after effects into media encoder, by hitting the 'add to adobe media encoder queue' option, encoder will open but will not load the project. I don't get any error messages, the program just opens and nothing happens afterwards. I have twice had to uninstall and reinstall both programs and after each time encoder will perform correctly a couple of times, and then the issues will occur again. I haven't found any info about this issue online so I'm not sure if others are experiencing it but hopefully there is some kind of fix for this somewhere because this is becoming extremely annoying. Any help given is appreciated, thank you.

yeah it's crazy they don't have a dedicated feather tool yet 😞 the radial blur tool is also a pretty good work around for round shapes

Thank you so so much, that fixed it. I'm not sure what caused this bug but hopefully it can be documented in the future, as I've never experienced it before and not even customer service could point me in the right direction so I thought I was going crazy. Thanks again

Hello. Thank you very much for responding. Resetting the workspace did not work but I have found the solution. apparently you need to hold down the ALT button while dragging and only then will the panel undock. I've been working in photoshop for a long time and don't recall ever having to hold the alt button to move the panels, and I don't see that instruction anywhere in Adobe's official manual or tutorials for working with panels. If someone can point me to where it says that that would be great, because right now I am shocked that they would make a change like that without reflecting it anywhere. Hello, hopefully someone can help with this, I feel like I'm losing my mind. I just want to undock the menu panels and rearrange them into a new custom workspace but no matter what I try the panels stay stuck to the right of the screen. I've tried loading the menus individually, I've tried using the 'essentials' template and moving them that way, I've messed around in the 'interface' menu and 'general settings' in the preference menu, have restarted the program several times but nothing is working. please help this is very annoying as I was able to undock panels in the past, not sure if something has changed of if I'm just missing something. Thanks.
