In ten years of heavy PS usage, I have never had a single crash until this version. In addition to what I noted on my initial thread here, PS regularly locks up now when I am in LR and choose to edit the image in PS. PS opens but the image does not transfer over. Sometimes, if I wait for 3 or 4 minutes, it finally transfers. Not impressed with this update!!!

Actually, I did update my GPU drivers after the release and the subsequent crashes. It does empirically seem like I am crashing less when using the Remove tool with the updated GPU drivers, but I am still crashing frequently.

My NVIDEA 3080 drivers are up to date as well. PS still crashes with Remove tool usage 😞

I just upgraded to PS 2025 (v26.0) on Windows 10. After the upgrade, about 80 to 90% of the time when I use the Remove Tool, it begins processing, the green status bar moves across the screen, but when it gets to near the end of processing, it stalls and then PS crashes. Prior to the upgrade, the Remove tool had never crashed PS on my PC. It happens almost always when I use the "Wire and Cables" option under Distractions. PS crashes more often than not when using regular brush removal. Is anyone else seeing this same issue? When it crashes, I am sending the bug report to Adobe.

Actually, using the CTRL key to dynamically toggle auto masking on/off IS still working! What threw me off is that in the prior version, when you pressed the CTRL key you would visually see the change in the brush panel-- that is, if the Auto Mask check box was checked and you pressed the CTRL key, the box would un-check, and vice versa. However, now in the latest version, when you press the CTRL key, there is no feedback provided in the brush panel. For example, if Auto Mask is off (no check box) and you hold the CTRL key down to invoke auto masking, the check box remains unchecked. That is why I thought it was not working. However, on the actual image, while brushing, using the CTRL key still functions like it did in prior versions. Sorry for the confusion and thanks for the speedy response! Bruce

Prior to the latest LR release, I would always leave auto mask off (unchecked) when using the brush tool. As I brushed, I would dynamically turn auto masking on when needed by simply holding the Ctrl key down while I brushed. I loved this feature. However, with this latest LR release, using the Ctrl key to toggle auto masking on and off no longer seems to work. Is there a new shortcut key to accomplish this in the new release or was this feature removed? I have searched online and cannot find any information on the topic. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Bruce

Didn't even thing to do that!!! Thanks for reminding me of that option! Based upon the info Data Usage, it appears that the Smart Previews are averaging about 1.1 MB per stored picture. Which is actually less than the 1.5 to 2 MB that I was guessing. Thanks for the assist! Bruce

I cannot seem to find definitive information on how much space is being used on my iPhone when I synch a collection from my desktop computer to Lightroom Mobile on my iPhone. From what I have read, it appears that files from the desktop are sent to my iPhone as Smart Previews which are 1.5 to 2 mb in size. So if a synched collection on my desktop has 300 pictures, I should plan for approximately 600 mb to be used up on my phone? Can someone please confirm my understanding is correct. I appreciate any input! Thanks! Bruce
