When I use the color picker to select a color, the current color changes, but the rgb values in the color window do not update. They stay the same.

So I recently noticed that Photoshop was showing rainbow artifacts when doing some digital painting. Eventually, it would crash pretty often too. Now I was livestreaming when this first happened so I thought it was just too much pressure on the hardware. Fast forward to updating windows, updating my gpu, uninstalling photoshop AND deleting the preferences, and finally reinstalling the latest version. Painting on a 1000x1000 canvas still sometimes shows artifacting in the brushes, and after painting for 10 minutes with the default brushes on an 8kx8k canvas, photoshop instacrash to desktop. I even set gpu usage to basic to see if that would help. Nope. Hardware: intel 9900k cpu, nvidia 2080 Ti gpu, 1tb samsung nvme ssd 960 (+ 3 tb ssd space in other drives), 64gb of 3200 ddr4 ram. Photoshop allocated to use 70% of which* I am painting with a Wacom Cintiq Pro 32" and one extra monitor. Please let me know if you have any advice. In the meantime, I am resolved to painting in Clip Studio Paint which has 0 issues at the moment, even with the graphic load of streaming/encoding at the same time with 8k+ canvas sizes. I really wanted photoshop to work since I am paying for the full suite and there are quite a few things that Clip Studio just cant do.

It was H.264 and 30.00 frames/second. Its possible that would have worked but It would have taken too long for the time being since it was such a long file. Ill let you know if that works next time.

So I record stream files from Streamlabs OBS and they are quite large, usually 2 hour long files at 1440p around 30-40 GB mp4 files. I do this for a living and work with premire 10 hours a week. After updating to the latest version I brought in two of these files into my project. One workef fine, while the other was unplayable in the timeline. As a matter of fact, as soon as I try to play it no matter what, premire crahsed soon after. The file was completely fine and uncorrupted, and played on other softwares. Once I reverted to the previous version of Premire, the file worked again. These are .mp4 files. Is it possible there is more to the discontinuation of the mkv file that I am not aware of? I would like to know if there is anything I am missing. No additional plugins/features whatsoever are installed and restarting the program/computer didn't help.

This solution was simply a coincidence, and problems resurfaced daily until today, where after 6 hours of trial and error there was no solution. There is no solution to this problem. I am no longer using Adobe for video editing. It doesn't make sense why other editing programs and every other use of my GPU work, but simply no version of Premiere Pro works. The problem must be with the software, or I have a virus that is only targeting Premiere Pro lol. I have literally tried every version for it to suddenly stop showing video playback seconds in. Its hit or miss and I have already wasted tens of hours troubleshooting this.

I have found a solution, although It is a very unique case. I have a Sound Devices Mix-Pre 6 connected to my computer as an audio interface. After powering it externally for a new project (disconnected from my pc) Premiere no longer had issues with video playback. Its evident the issue was with the audio hardware, however not something a simple change of MME/AISO would fix. Either my mixpre needs updates, or it simply wont work with Premiere at this time, which I am completely fine with because I do not record to Premiere directly. This is with the latest studio RTX drivers, and the latest verion of Premiere. If you have a similar issue (Premiere not completely closing when you exit the program + no video playback upon program restart) You might need to play with your audio inputs & outputs.

I have tried this and once I rolled back the video card driver, Premiere completely stopped showing any video whatsoever. This is now regardless if after I restart my pc and regardless of an uninstall/reinstall of adobe premiere. I tried a previous version 13.0 and the problem persisted. I have no clue what change happened that caused this. Its looking like I may have to learn a new software...

I have just tried that, with 0 effect. The playhead remains still with no video feedback on both new and old projects.

*I have searched high and low for a solution to this issue but cannot find an identical situation online.* When I start the computer, I can edit footage fine. When I close Premiere, and then start again, it will not play any footage in the timeline. Even the most recent project I JUST sent to export...it will only play the audio and the playhead will not move. I have no idea what is causing this because there are no changes to the computer in the meantime. Currently, the only solution is to restart my pc every time I want to use a new session of Premiere. I'm sure you can imagine this is very frustrating and not something I can live with for too long. I have tried clearing my media cache, updating premiere, and updating my graphics drivers, switching the playback engines back and forth.
