The file format is now generally named after the 2020 version. It's compatible for all versions 2020 and up. YOu only need to be careful with objects from newer functions when opening in a lower version. If you want to give the file to your client, you need to save locally. Cloud version is practical for easy sharing.

Does it go away when in CPU preview mode? Does it go away when you turn off Realtime preview in the Preferences? Do you have a Window manager installed in your system?

Please tell us your computer specifications. Exactly when does this happen? If it is associated with fonts: does it affect all fonts or just some? How do you manage your fonts? How many are installed? Do you use font management?

Xander, Thank you for sharing. The very conspicuous Attatchment Drag/drop has been with us after a forum software change five years and a half ago, and most use it until told about the well hidden Insert Photos.

I think it related to Mimaki Fine Cut, i keep getting it but the version we have is not compatible with the latest version of OSX, ive just uninstalled it using cleanmy mac and i see the mimaki fine cut plugin works fine in illustrator.

Im working with Sonnoma 14.3 and i have exactly rthe same problem! with Illustrator and Photoshop. I realized because i dont have a physical printer but made a remote one 0.0.0.0 to be able to tile a big file in illustrator but i cant save-print it in pdf therefore i cant print it in a shop! any solutions please!

Hello i have got same problem and fix it by doing GO TO THE PROPERTEIS THEN ENABLE SNAP OPTIONS ON THERE ARE 3 DIFFERENT MAGNET ICON AND OPTIONS CLICK ON ALL that is it then you will move and select or click texts

Show and hide edges is a document specific setting. So it could have happened that you hide them in one file and show them in another.

This is typical of the infuriating and baffling Adobe Illustrator experience, this program is terrible, the interface and workflow are so poorly designed the developers obviously don't use this program and are clearly not graphic designers. Every feature seems like a lazy, disorganized patch of sloppy band-aids.

Did it crash? If not, no files are supposed to be there. But even if it did crash, there could be reasons why there are no files. Particularly when it crashed while it was saving. Please do - save your files - save early - save often - save different versions of your file. Because it doesn't help if you save every 5 minutes and then the only copy of your file gets corrupted. - save to multiple locations - turn on Time Machine if on a Mac - turn on the Recovery function. But never rely on it as your only solution. - turn off "Save in background" in the Illustrator preferences.
