I don't know if this is a bug or I'm just interpreting it incorrectly. But, this has happened to me many times. Completely random times, no way to recreate it or know if/when it will happen. But it happened again today for the first time in many months. Photoshop tells me it can't save a file because it's over the 2GB limit and needs to be saved in Large Document Format. But the file isn't anywhere even close to 2GB. As you can see in the second pic it's at 990MB. But it forces me to save it as a PSB anyway. And yes, the file really was around 990MB and not 2GB. Not sure why this happens. I'm on a Mac, saving to an external hard drive. Latest release versions of both Photoshop and MacOS. But, it's been happening for years so this goes back many versions.

I'm confused. I switched to Classic gradient and painted it right into the layer without any issue. In my case I selected a foreground to transparent gradient. But it worked just fine. I painted in several gradients into the same layer inside a masked area. How is what you are trying to do different?

I don't know if this is a solution or just a coincidence. But, the problem kept returning for me with every new PS update. Then I read somewhere someone mentioned something about having this issue when using the 'Edit In Photoshop' feature in Lightroom, which is what I do, too. So I tried opening a file outside of Lightroom and didn't have the problem. At that point, I realized I had 'Maximize Compatibility' turned off. I turned it back on and haven't had the problem since. For anyone having this issue, try turning Maximize Compatibility on and see if it solves the problem. It's worth a shot if nothing else works.

Export As is designed for screen use. For those of us who need extra metadata for things like printing (i.e. assuring the file is 300 ppi) then Export As doesn't work as it strips that info out and then defaults to 72 ppi.

Spoke too soon. Downgraded to 24.6 and the problem went away. So on a whim, I tried upgrading back to 24.7 and sure enough the problem was gone...so I thought. After several weeks error-free the error is back again. So annoying! So I guess I have to keep reinstalling every few weeks? PLEASE fix it!

@Beth Lily Redwood no they didn't. The problem started for me AFTER upgrading to 24.7 and went away once I went back to 24.6. I had no issues in 24.6 before the upgrade. So it seems that in fixing it for people that had the issue in 24.6, they created the issue for others in 24.7. So I'm stuck on 24.6 for now.

@Andreafine To downgrade to 24.6: On the Creative Cloud app, go to the All Apps Tab. Find Photoshop. Click on the three dots all the way to the right. On the drop-down menu choose 'Other versions'. You'll be able to pick 24.6 from there.

I just downgraded back to 24.6 and the problem is gone. So it's DEFINITELY something in the new update.

Sorry, busy day. Didn't have a chance to respond earlier. I'm on MacOS Ventura 13.1. I'm working with a PSD file. But it's not just one file. Any file I work on, doesn't matter, the same thing happens. I'm confused, how do we share Diagnostic info with you after uploading to Creative Cloud files?

Updated to 24.3 and now my actions that include a save operation now fail with a "Could not complete your request because of a program error." On MacOS.

Yes, I can see where other people adding metadata to your images can be a worry. But, in a true collaboration, there has to be a way for people to select and organize photos. Not just the owner. I'll find the feature request and add my vote, and can't wait to try the collaborative proofing in a future release. Thank you so much!

I've used Lightroom Classic for over a decade, never tried the cloud-based. Now, finally, I find myself in a situation of needing to share an album with someone else. That part was easy. But now, I'm wondering how to manage the content? In Lightroom Classic there are all kinds of tags, flags, ratings, picks, rejects, metadata, etc, and filters to find stuff based on all those things. But, search doesn't work for shared folders. So, how do you ever find anything you need? Can't set ratings. Can't set flags. Can't add tags. Can't pick or reject photos. Can you even make subfolders within an album? A feature I wouldn't even need if I could just filter the photos. There doesn't seem to be ANY organizational features in a shared album other than likes. And even then, there doesn't seem to be a way to filter on liked photos. Am I missing something, or are shared albums really that limited?

I'm having this same problem, but it's not related to having a second monitor. I only have one. Working on an iMac. Every time it happens, if I quit photoshop and reopen, it starts to work again.

Yes, I was just about to post this, too. There is no Preset Syncing option on mine, either and I also get that notification every time I open Photoshop. No idea what's going on. They even have a help page about how to enable and use preset syncing, so it's supposed to be there.

I am constantly getting asked to login to my Adobe account almost every time I open up Acrobat Reader. It's really getting annoying, especially since I use a password manager that, of course, only autofills on websites. So I have to constantly open that program, copy my password, and paste it in almost every time I use Acrobat Reader. I have a CC subscription and don't have this issue with any other Adobe program I'm using. Only Reader. How do I save the credentials so I don't have to do this so often? I'm on macOS.

Photoshop seems to be permanently broken now. The fact that these issues have gone on for so long is inexcusable. Even simple issues like the save for web settings not saving each time you close Photoshop. Not fixed. It's been what, 3 months now? And now Photoshop has started randomly crashing in the middle of Select & Mask. Happened 3 times already. So much time lost. It just crashed for me again, and every time I submit a crash report. And every time I include my email address. So no idea why you don't see them.

Thank you, that worked! I was selecting Help>Updates... in Photoshop not realizing that it doesn't automatically sync until you select 'Check for app updates' in the CC app.

What I've noticed on 10.14.1 is that the spinning cursor still shows up, but the response of the brush is much faster than before the update. It went from almost unusable to at least usable. But it's definitely still buggy. Of course, I didn't just update the OS, there was also a driver update for my Wacom tablet. So maybe that helped, too. Still has issues, but, I'm dealing with it because that new content aware fill has already helped me a lot!

It's up to you. I had no choice. I was still on 10.11 when the CC2019 update came out, so it forced me to update before I could install it. If 10.13 is working for you, there's no reason to rush. While 10.14.1 seems to be working much better, I've only had it since yesterday, so I can't tell you with certainty that there won't be issues. I still have to play with it a lot more. But, so far it is much better since the update.

Yes, it's already been determined that the issue is with Mojave. Although the 10.14.1 update was just released, and the issues appear to be mostly solved. I don't notice much lag at all, even with the rulers enabled.

I've also started getting weird rectangular patterns showing up on the screen while using the brush. Sometimes thin like in this example image. Sometimes really large. If you continue to brush over the image it slowly goes away. Or, if you change the opacity of the layer, the whole thing goes away immediately. But, it's happening often. It seems to me that CC 2019 is quite unstable, yet at least usable without the rulers.

Right after installing the latest Flash update, Hulu starts to crash over and over again...3-5 times per 43 minutes episode. Happened on both Chrome 7 and Firefox 3.6.12, haven't tried on other browsers yet. I'm on Windows 7. My other computer I refused the update, and it still works just fine. Is there any way to revert to an earlier version of the Flash player? I don't see any way to do it on the download page.

I'm using the ColdFusion extensions to Flex Builder 3
(3.0.1.205647), and I can't use the Visual Query Builder. This is a
fresh ColdFusion8 install. I have RDS configured, I even test the
connection successfully.
I can use the RDS DataView and see the databases, click on
cfartgallery, for example, and show the 'art' table contents. No
problem. Then I click the 'Visual Query Builder' button, and
nothing happens. The query builder does not show.
It's not a big deal until I try and run the CF/Ajax app
wizard, and editing the master page is supposed to open up the
query builder...same problem. Even here it won't open. So, I can't
edit anything or use the wizards at all. I don't get any error
message, it just doesn't do anything when I click the button.
Anyone else have this problem? Is there some setting I am
missing or have to configure after a fresh install in the CF
administrator?
