I haven't done all the steps, just wanted to see where I am off before going on. Would I need a separate layer each time I changed Opacity for falls, mist? What I did learn, once you close out Photoshop your history isn't saved! Ank I just learned how to crochet--thanks to Internet (two beanies under my belt)...

I am a bit sleepy, been overwhelmed with little things, i.e., I don't know how to see image and Timeline without toggling back and forth. I am going to check out your links tomorrow when I am not soooo frustrated. I don't quite understand why, when I press mask image on Toolbar, it doesn't show red. Then I hit the sound icon on the menu bar and it took me an hour of messing with my cords before I figured that out! I did change the percentage to 50 as shown in your image. Thanks and please don't give up on me. You are the only one who actually points things out with arrows...

I press Q to select and CTRL I to invert selection. I wind up with this: (red arrow) I then click on the box with the thin white lines I wind up with this: (red arrow) It is the same when I mask the falls, mists... NOTE: At the beginning of the tutorial, after pressing Q to select and CTRL I to invert--the rock, people are cloudy white--why?

I had to Google to find Preferences, under Edit. I hope my brain can handle all this! I did have to make a change although my dialogue box is a bit difference than yours.

If I click on the little square at the top right of screen it expands to show the Timeline. What I want to do is squish it to the right without hiding the Timeline?

I like to keep my tutorial along side Photoshop. I can't see my Timeline unless I expand Photoshop, covers over tutorial. Is there a way I can drag my Timeline up in Photoshop without expanding the screen?

Thanks so much. I selected Custom Shape, Single Row/Column Marquee Tool. Along the same line, I now want to flip the text at the bottom so as to read it from right to left. While still in Text, I clicked on Edit/Transform/flip. It is now in the right direction, but upside down?

One last question, please. I have added in the bee and caterpillar. Caterpillar layer is selected. I have my paint brush at 296, hardiness = 0 as in the tutorial, but he has another selection which I don't find? I tried erasing with Background Eraser; it is kind of sloppy. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. My progress so far, I have had to go back step by step several times to see what I did that works and I am documenting my steps in Word for further reference. Next thing I am doing is to study up on how to record my actions and the History option. If I am not kicked out, I'll be back--one question at a time.

I opened the fish in its own document as you stated above, it worked just as you said. But, I noticed in the tutorial that the background was included along with the fish so I created the layer mask and dragged the fish over (I think that's what I did, I won't know until I try it again). Then I did the CTRL/T and matched how it was in the tutorial. Then I erased around until the raindrop with the fish appeared. I can't seem to control the mouse so it erases all over the place!

I should know how this is done as I have opened a transform with the crossbars in an earlier tutorial--didn't write down how I did it. I want to put the fish into the raindrop. The tutorial for this is very fast, not very clear, and no transcript. I think I will be needing a lot of help along the way. Thanks for looking, Lucie.

In the video tutorial it has the selection being made with the Pen tool. I just tried the Polygonal Lasso tool and that came up with the Refine Edge dialogue box. Your screenshot is a great help with that; thanks so much for your patience! Lucie.

How do I output to a new layer in the options? I alt/clicked on the path layer, then went back to the Layers panel and clicked new layer. That gave me a transparent layer?
