This would be a PIA on an existing project, but I start all my user variables with "1_". That puts them all at the top.
I believe Silicon Prairie Software's Variable plugin allows for batch renaming based on a table.

I periodically open all the TCS programs separately and check for updates under the Help menu.
Also, you won't automatically download new major versions. I usually download the trial version and install myself. Once you sign in, it's no long a trial. The only downside on this is that you can expect a call and email from Adobe sales...

Hi @dana_1216:
FrameMaker has two types of Cross-references (X-refs): paragraph and spot. Most of the time we use paragraph X-refs because they are a one-step process, and only use the two-step spot X-refs when we need to target specific words within a paragraph that may potentially break across pages. Most of the time, we are referencing heads (titles, subheads, table titles and figure captions) that will remain on a single page (though that page may change) so a paragraph X-ref will add the marker that it needs to track the paragraph and the text referring the reader to that paragraph in a single step.
In your case, I would do as @Jeff_Coatsworth suggested: just replace the word support at the end of the paragraph with a paragraph X-ref to the title in the Support.fm file (presumably the word "Support" at the top of the first page of that file).
Note that FrameMaker will default to See Heading & Page which will add See "Support" on page x but you can modify the definition to just reference the title and nothing else so that it matches what you have now. Just click the edit button to the right of the Format list to modifiy the building blocks.

Hi @Susan305351693t3o:
Paragraph styles and character styles function completely independently of each other, except in auto-numbering, where a character style can be nested in a paragraph style.
But isn't Gear Reducers a cross reference (X-ref)? I think the X-ref is calling in the character style, which explains why you can't remove it without editing either the cross reference, or the character style it is calling in.
In my example below, the text is huge (12 pts) because the character style <Emphasis> is being called into the X-ref definition. It doesn't show in the Character Catalog and all indicators show that it is 6 pt even though it is now 12 pt.
But now that I know the X-ref is assigned Emphasis, I can select Emphasis in the Character Designer, and modify the definition. Update style will update all usages of Emphasis, including the ones associated with the X-refs. Alternatively, I could have removed <Emphasis> from the X-ref definition, since your paragraph style is handling the color, underline and size.

Was content changed between the original RH2019 Classic project and the current RH2022 version? If not, then you might try upgrading a copy of the original Classic project straight into RH2022 to test it out. One of the sequential updates may have damaged something that's causing the error. If it still errors out after that, then you definitely need to reach out to the RH folks. The reason I asked about if the sample project was experiencing issues is to determine if there's a more general problem with your installation vs. issues with a specific project.

Rick: Unfortunately, Adobe's silence about FrameMaker has motivated some of my clients to move to other structured authoring and publishing solutions.
I would think that the Unicode SMP situation (FM supports only BMP, FRMAKER-10976) is becoming a real problem too.
I had to resort to an EPS hack in a recent project to get a handful SMP characters into the PDF.
Unicode was released in 1991. FM didn't get any Unicode support until FM8 in 2007, and even then only supported 66% of it.
The coverage has been steadily dropping.
FM supports only 36% of Unicode today.

In the template editor there are many settings that you will have to experiment with and test thoroughly.
Unable to reduce white space between panes.
If I have followed correctly, what you are referring to as white space is panel width. Reduce that and less white space. You will likely need to increase one or more panels to compensate for a reduction in one.
left and right tab resize is not being responsive
I'm not sure what you mean here but is this setting applied?
Clicking Collapse icon on left is hiding text
Please clarify. The icon is meant to hide the left panel. See it on my site.
Even after collapsing output is not responsive
Again, please clarify.

Are you talking about launching Context Sensistive Help (CSH) in your output? You need all the files and folders that are present in your output folder - deleting any of them will cause it to fail. RH output depends on using JavaScript for it to function.

I have found that "fancy" css can trip up the word conversion.
To test if it could be something in your css file, create a blank css file and use that instead of your normal css. Everything will look wrong, but if the generation finishes, you know it's something in your css file.

Are you saying that you want the images to be stored on your site but not as part of the CHM file? In other words the topics have links to the images rather than them being in the CHM?
I don't think this is possible but first of all which version of RoboHelp are you using?

Just to confirm, you didn't need to add the PDF as a baggage file? Which version and update of RoboHelp are you using?

In the first screenshot you are looking at the Search tab and in the second at the TOC.
I suspect the issue is something to do with the difference between the Topic Heading and Topic Title.
Right click the topic and select Properties. Is the Topic Title correct?
If that is not the problem, open the TOC in RoboHelp and right click the entry there. Is that correct?

Further up that screen there is a + icon. Add a div and apply the styling you want.
I'm still puzzled by wanting a line break in a feature that by definition is inLINE. 🙂

If it's just started with FM2019, the first thing I would try is to patch FM2019 to the highest version available and see if whatever is causing the crash has already been fixed. Next thing I would try is loading a trial version of FM2022 on a separate machine and testing it with a copy of your content - if that works, the solution is pretty clear - you need to upgrade. If that still doesn't fix it, then I'd ping the FM folks - see https://helpx.adobe.com/contact/enterprise-support.other.html#framemaker for your Adobe Support options. I'd recommend using the tcssup@adobe.com e-mail address as it reaches a team dedicated to Technical Communication Suite products including FrameMaker.

I think the output includes jquery although I couldn't say for certain. But it should be fairly easy to test by including a simple Hello World jquery sample script in the project.. A google should turn up such a script you can test out.
I'm pretty sure bootstrap isn't part of the output natively. However, I think it would be possible to include the bootstrap css, js etc in the project and get it working in the output. I don't say it would be easy to work with, but I think it would be possible.
For example, I got the datatables javascript library working in Robohelp Classic, and it should be easier in RH2022 which is built on more modern frameworks and supports multiple stylesheets more easily than Classic did..

@anastasiiab25132022 Can you try another browser to determine whether Mac or Safari is the issue?
