Same layer outline issue on the non beta version. Didn't have this outline on the Intel Mac, strange that the layer panel would be different with the same PS version. I've disconnected the Intel iMac, if I get a chance to hook it up again I'll send a screenshot but it this should be corrected unless we're missing an obscure setting somewhere.    @Aleke tagging you in this new updated thread ... Have you figured out how to disable this? I've moved from an Intel Mac to Apple silicon and for some reason Photoshop has added a thick black outline around layers in the layers panel. Since layer masks can be mostly black sometimes it's difficult to see if the pixel layer or mask is activated. ... View more

I find that when I use Gen Fill on objects against smooth backgrounds, like something against sky, clouds, painted wall or ceiling that I get a hard color shift in the area selected for Gen Fill. Hey anyone Adobe - any thoughts on this? I was just playing around with PhotoLine's distort with arrows feature and its a very similar to my idea of having a way to transform an image using Bezier path tools. It's not done very well in PhotoLine (or else I'd just use that for warping) but if you could have a function like Liquify but instead use Bezier curves to transform an image that would be really powerful. Also having the save/load mesh capability would be essential to recreate the transformations. Again Puppet Warp has the tiniest idea of this but its done so poorly and it is seemingly a forgotten tool at this point. I am finally using CC 2018 after the healing brush was fixed so I can now use the new color stroke for the pen tool. FINALLY! How many years did we have to wait for this? About 8? I think it was the change from CS5 to CS6 where we couldn't see the path line (allegedly Apple's fault). Why do essential fixes like this take so long? I am happy to use it now but it has been so frustrating for years. The pen tool is not an obscure feature for pro users - I have to use it everyday! As it's been said earlier, if you use PS I any professional capacity you should know not to jump in on important work. Install along side a version that works well and test when you have time. I installed CC 2018 and after 5 minutes of slow healing brush I checked the feedback site, saw it was an issue with the update and went back to CC 2017. No productivity lost. ... View more

Save/Load mesh is vital to Liquify - if they take it out of modal and lose that functionality - Liquify will be useless like Puppet Warp. Since the move to CC subscription we haven't seen much development or improvements to core functionality and tools - to me seems like a lack of incentive - I think we are better off wishing that Liquify be left modal (since its pretty powerful as it is) and more (or any) attention goes to something like Warp which is so under developed and basic. Or even try and make Puppet Warp useful. I cannot see something as complicated and intricate like liquify moving out of a modal dialogue and still retaining all of its features. Look at puppet warp - non modal - it is so constrained that its practically useless. Pro retouchers use the load mesh feature in liquify all of the time, you wouldn't have that in a non-modal tool. ... View more

Quite a lot of new features - that are questionable or useless to many photographers and photo retouchers. And no I do not consider most Adobe "magic" or "smart" or "aware-this" to actually work in for professional demands. Making the path readable with a user defined color stroke (like it was pre CS5) or (my #1 need) adding more grid lines and save and load mesh to warping would really help a lot of retouchers. ... Thats why I suggested here literally years ago to add a warp tool to the liquify dialogue so you can move pixels like painting as well as shifting pixels more fluidly like the warp grid lines. Even if they added more grid lines to warp - there is no mesh feature - so adding warp to liquify would be really helpful for that reason alone. ... View more
