3/4/25 using 26.3.0 and I just started having this problem about a month into working on one document. I have the preferences set to fill with placeholder text. Nothing works. I've got a lot of text layers. My document is 2.33 GB. I shouldn't be having memory issues though. I've got 48 gb of ram, 12 gb of Vram, and 2 tb of storage space. I've got my memory usage set to let photoshop use 70%. I haven't had a single issue until today, and I've been working on this one document for over a month. If I double click the icon for a text layer in the layers panel, the text in the document becomes active. If I start changing the text or typing, photoshop reverts to myriad pro. If I select the text tool first, then reselect the proper font and THEN start typing, it shows the correct font. Why is this happening? How can I fix it? ... View more

I think you're giving Adobe too much credit by assuming that they're actually updating the application with security updates or some other small improvement while not bumping the version number.   I'm confident that this is a bug in Creative Cloud, where it incorrectly reports that an update is available for Photoshop when there isn't. I'm on Photoshop 25.6.0. The last modified times for all of the files in the Photoshop application folder in Windows show March 22, 2024, at 8:00pm EST. I know I upgraded to 25.6.0 days ago.   I noticed that the folder for "Adobe Creative Cloud Experience" and the files within show a last modified time a bit earlier this evening (3/26), around the time I received the notification that Photoshop was updated.   So, it might be misleading to say that the update is for Photoshop. Based on this thread, I'm about to downgrade to 22.11. I am beyond frustrated with the sluggish behavior of Photoshop in the past few months. The simple process of LAUNCH, NEW DOCUMENT, PASTE takes eons. There's nothing wrong with my preferences. There's nothing wrong with my system. The problem is your software.   I'm on an i7-13K with 64 Gigs of ram, and 3060ti with drivers that are completely current (older drivers also used in the past of course, and has not made any difference.)   I don't know if it's AI (that i do NOT use) code trying to sort itself out when PS launches, or the HTML interface hooks, or the cloud storage features (which I also don't use), or the Share Button (ditto.) Okay, it's admissions time. I have to say from the outset that Audition 2 was the darkest part of Audition's history. It should never have been released, and it wouldn't have been if Adobe corporate had listened to, and taken notice of, the developers. This was all a matter of 'co-ordinated time scales' and was rather unfortunate. Wanna know what a mid-range beta release was like back then? You got it - Audition 2. I know - I was there. Got the teeshirt, eaten the stew, edited one of the books about it (I'm not saying which one, but a heck of a lot of it is actually me...)   Basically, the fix for Audition 2 was Audition 3. No, I don't have Audition 2 on any machines at all now, so it's hard to suggest anything sensible apart from one thing: try right-clicking on the Record button (or possibly the Play button as well) and see if that reveals anything. But I have to say that in terms of stability, if nothing else, the CS6 version is a vast improvement - I'd stick with that if you don't want to upgrade further, because at least it will run perpetually.     ... 3/4/25 using 26.3.0 and I just started having this problem about a month into working on one document. I have the preferences set to fill with placeholder text. Nothing works. I've got a lot of text layers. My document is 2.33 GB. I shouldn't be having memory issues though. I've got 48 gb of ram, 12 gb of Vram, and 2 tb of storage space. I've got my memory usage set to let photoshop use 70%. I haven't had a single issue until today, and I've been working on this one document for over a month. If I double click the icon for a text layer in the layers panel, the text in the document becomes active. If I start changing the text or typing, photoshop reverts to myriad pro. If I select the text tool first, then reselect the proper font and THEN start typing, it shows the correct font. Why is this happening? How can I fix it? ... View more
