Thanks, but not the question. As I alluded, half of the "opinions" on that specific field say leave at sRGB system default and half to match the chosen monitor ICM. As you say, you have no idea what they do, yet state leave them alone. Not my question. What DOES it do and what to choose and perhaps why. Well familiar with color calibration, etc. Another question and another answer, but not this one. And I am the master of my Windows updates, not M'soft. And again, a different question. Posting here as no more generic place to post in these forums and hoping Adobe folks will have a "correct" answer. I have googled until fingers bled and seems no one know for sure THIS answer. For me, once video signal is lost to the external monitor, the only fix is a reboot. The laptop internal screen continues to functio if I open the lid, but this really kills my editing sessions. As you say, ONLY in Classic and with NVIDIA card.

Thanks. I had tried to turn off acceleration previously with no luck. The above was before Classic FORCED some features of the GPU to stay on regardless of acceleration setting - to the best of my knowledge. My testing today is a slightly newer version of Classic than previous and with an updated NVIDIA driver. And sometimes just posting prompts things to work 🙂 Shall see. But not a lot of discussions on this on the net. Some, but this one most thorough I could find.

Similar enough it is the same. the differences are one monitor and ALWAYS in crop and/or healing. And enough good history here to not have to reinvent the wheel. And perhaps someone had found the solution. Testing now with these settings with Acceelaration Off, even though CLASSIC ignores that in some cases (known issue). This thread is my first hit searching for this issue. A little different for me. Never happened with Lightroom 6 - started with Classic One monitor external to laptop. These all subsided after my last post and were self purging anything older than 7 days. Was working fine. After the last or perhaps one before last Creative Cloud update, they no longer auto-purge. The Task that appears to check for Valid License runs twice a day and I would think that was what was keeping the files under control, but no longer. And it is more than these two directories, but these are the worst offenders. Does auto purging there still work for anyone else? Andy ideas?

Ahhh, just read this: This is expected. The intention of this workaround is NOT to disable GPU for your normal use LrClassic. It just tells LrClassic to delegate the ML inference part of the workarlod to CPU and it would not take any additional resource from your GPU, which seems to be a more precious resource in your setup. So no indication it is working. Ok, will test to see just what it improves. Thanks!

If I have not posted an update, BLUR works great for me bit maybe one out of 6 or 8 tries. I can get this: When not, my ENTIRE computer freezes and nothing works. Not even mouse. HARD reboot. When I do get the message, LrC disables and greys out the GPU settings. Can never tell when it will work. Sometimes purging the cache (which has near nothing in it) AND changing cache size gets it to work next try after closing and opening LrC. system info...

OK, really good progress! I enabled GPU in LrC as "Autoi". I enabled GPU for LrC in NVIDIA control panel as auto select and the same in Windows Control Panel. Opened an image and tried Denoise for the first time. Never had tried. And figured regardless of the result, I would learn something. And I did. Worked perfectly. So I tried blur on same image. Worked like a charm!! But, tried another image and got this message:   Closed and reopened LrC and got the same. Tried other images, same message. So BLUR worked once, does not crash Windows any longer, BUT will not do another image!! Cache perhaps? Something else? Would love to get it working. Sooooo close now thanks to everyone's help and suggestions.

Opened an image and tried Denoise for the first time. Never had tried. And figured regardless of the result, I would learn something. And I did. Worked perfectly. So I tried blur on same image. Worked like a charm!! But, tried another image and got this message: Closed and reopened LrC and got the same. Tried other images, same message. So BLUR worked once, does not crash Windows any longer, BUT will not do another image!! Cache perhaps? Something else? Would love to get it working. Sooooo close now thanks to everyone's help and suggestions.

I need to do one more test to see if I will be able to use this at all! First try hardest crash ever on this computer. All froze. Required power button shutdown and reboot. Worst comes to worst, forces me to create BOKEH with skill rather than tools 🙂

Just tried this first time. Picked a compex image that definitely would benefit separating subject from background here, saw the popup and clicked APPLY. HARD computer crash. Nothing. No mouse, no Alt Tab, nothing at all. Waited a couple of minutes then had to do a hard boot. Did I do something wrong?

Got it. Thanks. So it sems I need another venue other than "stock" photography sites to sell my images and prints. Getty did confuse me as it seems historical events with public figures often do have their tag. But of course, not endorsing products. So that is the kind of stock I was looking for. Concert shots of famous musiciians living and passed, for example. Thanks all.
