Have you looked at the changes in local storage preferences in the 1.1 release? It should show clearly what space is required and allow you to specify how much space you want to designate to your photo cache. The required space is the only piece of this that you cannot adjust, and it's a fairly small piece compared to the default size of your photo cache (20%). You can make your photo cache any size you want, down to 0%. Just note, the smaller the photo cache, the fewer originals and previews Lightroom keeps locally for you. Further, you can still specify an external drive for your original storage if you like.

There were some changes and fixes related to Local Storage with the Lightroom CC 1.1 update, which went live last night. I think it is now easier to understand what kind of space the product needs on the local drive. Take a look and report back whether this helps your specific situation. Thanks, Becky

Currently, you can specify a different drive to store originals. The previews and catalog need space on the main drive.

You've taken the right initial steps; directing Lightroom CC storage to an external drive with lots of space is the right first step. However, while migrating the Lightroom Classic catalog, Lightroom CC also creates a database and previews on your local hard drive to enable viewing and editing your images during migration. This can take up significant additional space, which can be as much as 20% of the size of your catalog and original files. Especially when migrating large catalogs, make sure you have that amount of free space on your local drive. Becky

There is a bug logged on this. In the meantime, to work around this, just include "http://" before the URL you enter. That makes the link work properly for me. (Or if you want it to be a mail link, enter "mailto:" before your email address).

At this time, there is no sanctioned way to relocate this folder. We are aware of the request, though.

We have uncovered a bug where the slideshow acts this way when your username on the OS contains accented characters. We are working to fix this.

Hi Jeff,
When you say "the times are all 3 hours behind" which times are you referring to? Where do you see this in the Lightroom interface?
Thanks,
Becky

Hi Nuno,
I was able to reproduce this, and have logged a bug. The specific circumstances that cause the bug:
1. Selection includes a video and
2. Video is offline/missing and
3. Develop setting checked in the Sync dialog are not valid for video.
If any of the above are not true, the error does not occur.
Thanks!
Becky

I understand better now what is happening. Currently, the arrow keys act in full screen the same way they do in the module behind full screen. So, if you enter full screen mode from Grid, and have a few images selected, then press the arrow key, Lightroom will deselect the selection and move to the next image past the selection (the same way it does in grid mode without full screen). We have received feedback that customers would prefer Full Screen to always work like Loupe, so I have sent the bug back for further review. In the meantime, there are two possible workarounds.
1. Go to Loupe mode before going to Full screen.
OR
2. If you go to full screen from grid mode, use Ctrl+arrow keys to go to the next/previous image without losing the selection.

Hi Avelino,
Although I have not been able to see this bug, someone else on the team was able to get it to happen, so we can work with his crash report. I'll post back if we need more information from you.
Thanks,
Becky

Avelino, I have tried your steps several times, on OS X 10.8.4 and can't get the crash to happen. When the crash happens, can you follow the prompts to send the crash information to Adobe? We can take a look from there.
Thanks,
Becky

Hi Avelino,
I was not able to see this same issue. Here are my steps, let me know if you are doing anything differently:
1. Select an image.
2. Go to Develop.
3. In the Lens Correction Panel, click "Auto" in the Basic tab (in the Upright section).
4. Click on Crop.
5. Using the mouse, rotate the image. I tried rotating both clockwise and counterclockwise.
Thanks,
Becky

thanks for explaining - I misunderstood before. There is a bug in which Process Version 2003 photos (only) in catalogs that have been upgraded to Lightroom 5.0 will incorrectly get a "Post Crop Vignette: Paint Overlay" History State applied when further processed in the Develop Module. This in-and-of-itself is innocuous, however, for photos in this condition, selecting a subsequent History State can reset existing settings that follow that state in the History panel. This reset cannot be undone, effectively deleting any settings that have been applied after the selected History State.
We are working on a fix for next dot release of Lightroom. In the meantime, a back-up copy of your previous Lightroom catalog is always recommended and will insure that all settings are recoverable for those who experience this issue.
