Go to Photoshop 2025>Settings>Workspace, uncheck Enable Native Full Screen, then restart Photoshop and see if Application Frame is available

Looks like Replace Background in Guided Edit selects the Default Brush set and resets it losing whatever unsaved bruhes are in that set. I would save out the Signature brush or any other custom brushes to a new set by going to Edit>Preset Manager, clicking on the Signature Brush, then click Save Set.

Seems that was a bug in Photoshop 2024 (ps ver 25.12 and 25.12.1) carried over from the Photoshop Beta version of the same time period as documented in this thread: https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-ecosystem-bugs/p-ps-v25-12-tool-menu-appear-behind-image-a-problem-coming-from-beta/idi-p/14855013 One way to deal with it is to turn off the Application Frame. (Window>Application Frame) Another is to use tabbed document windows with the Application Frame off

Another way is to turn the layer you want to apply the adjustments to into a Smart Object, then you can use Image>Adjustments for what's called Smart Filters. https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/applying-smart-filters.html

If in Photoshop you go to Photoshop 2025>Settings>General, uncheck Auto show the Home Screen, and restart Photoshop, does that make any difference?

In Window>Swatches? Do the names show with other swatches? You can go to Photoshop 2025>Settings>Tools and make sure Show Tooltips is checked. Seems to work here with Photoshop 2025 (ps ver 26.4.1) running under macOS Sequoia 15.3.1 on a 2022 Mac Studio.

If you just want to transform the selection outline and not the contents inside the selection use Select>Transform Selection.

Adobe says the Mac App Store handles the download, installation, licensing, and updating of all products purchased through it, so i guess the download for the Mac App Store version would have to come from Apple, since even though the product name and version number are the same, a Mac App Store purchase is a separate build of the application.

For the issue in the Contours for Bevel & Emboss hold down the Command key when using the arrow keys to prevent the skipping of Contour presets. Looks like that's a bug in Photoshop 2025

With the Brush Tool selected and you press Control + Option you don't see an outline of the brush cursor, then you left click and brush cursor should turn to a round circle? Are you using a mouse, trackpad or pen?

What version of Photoshop and macOS are you using? Can you post a screenshot? If the Dodge Tool brush is larger in diameter than the document your working on, it will just be a crosshair until the size fits within the document area.

I believe the actual photoshop elements 2025 editor and the organizer are Apple silicon , but some of the required functions like running certain filters, etc still require Intel code to run, which is why Rosetta is still apparently needed.

I believe the bug or at least to some degree is related to the version of Camera Raw the user has.
