My understanding is that the workspace configuration in place at the time you close Photoshop is saved.

Yes, I ca. Here are screenshots of the right-hand side of the workspace both without and with an image file opened. You can see how the image is partially obscured by the panels and toolbar.

I am running Photoshop 26.2 on a 2024 MacBook Pro (M4 Max Chip) with macOS Sequoia 15.2. I have my workspace customized such that all the panels and the toolbar are on the right hand side of the screen. For some reason when I open an image file it is displaying in the entire workspace with the right-hand portion of the image hidden behind the toolbar and panels. This problem just started (I probably did something). How can I get back to where a newly opened image file displays only in the available workspace instead of the entire workspace? Thanks in advance for any ideas. Stan

Hello and Happy New Year Anshul, Thank you for your response. It means a great deat that you will go to thr trouble to do so. For some unknown reason the grayed out "About Photoshop..." started appearing normally. I don't know what I may have done other than to restart Photoshop from the finder and also restart my computer to cause this to start behaving normally. I am now running Photoshop 26.6 and macOS Sequoia 15.2.All is well. Best regards and thanks again, Stan

Hello Anshui, Thank you for your reply. Here is a screenshot of the issue: Interestingly this happens when I open Photoshop from the dock and when I open Photoshop from the CCDA. And if I subsequently open an image file the gray out disappears, and "About Photoshop..." appears normally. Thanks again for your reply and recommendations. Looking forward to a fix to this minor issue. Stan

I am running macOS Sequoia 15.2 on a Nov 2024 MacBook Pro (M4 chip). I have updated Photohop 2025 to v26.1. When I click the "Photoshop" tab on the Menu Bar the "About Photoshop..." line is grayed out. Is this a bug? Or is there some obscure setting that I am missing? Would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks in advance, Stan

dj_paige, I apologize. I should have taken a screenshotof the message. I didn't. It was a small window that said the file could not be backed up. It gave me some choices of which only the Cancel button worked.

Hi Rikk, Thanks for your response. Apparently I cried wolf too quickly. I have tried again on both computers (MacBook Pro and Mac Pro) and have been able to do a backup before closing Lightroom Classic. Best regards...and thanks again, Stan

I have just upgraded to Lightroom Classic v14.0. When I quit the program and get the prompt to backup I try to backup. But it will not backup. I get a box stating that Lightroom can't backup. This is happening on both my MacBook Pro and Mac Pro. Both computers are running macOS 14.7 Sonoma. Is anybody else experencing this? Thanks.

Many thanks to Spas K., Bojan, and davecm. I've figured it out and want to share the answer. I needed to go to the "Select and manage gradient presets" drop-down in the Gradient Tool Bar, then in the "Basics" folder select the "Foreground to Transparent" thumbnail. The new Gradient Tool has...well...lots of curves...and knuckleballs. Thanks again for the assistance. You made me think. Stan

I am running Photoshop 2024 v.25.11.0 on a 2021 M1 Max MacBook Pro that is running macOS Sonoma 14.6.1. Strange things are thappening when I try to edit a mask with the Gradient tool. I have an adjustment layer that I have applied a mask to by Command-Clicking the channel that I saved when I created the mask and dragging it to the layer. The mask is half black (top; sky) and half white (bottom; ground) So far, so good. I have selected the Gradient tool and want to drag some low opacity linear gradients into the bottom and lower corners of the white portion of the mask (I want to partially mask these areas). But when I click-and-drag the gradient tool the top, black portion of the mask turns gray! What am I doing wrong? Any assistance appreciated.

Hi kglad, Thanks for your quick and helpful reply. Interestingly, after I updated my MacBook Pro today with the current revision to the operating system (now running macOS Ventura 13.6) the problem seemed to resolve itself. Nevertheless I appreciate the info in your reply. Thanks again, Stan

I am running Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop v 6.0.0.571 on my MacBook Pro laptop that is running macOS Ventura 13.5.2. I am getting a "Libraries Sync error." And it further says that Creative Cloud Services are blocked and that I should check settings on my firewall. Okay, that's all fine, but exactly what settings am I supposed to enable on my firewall? A screenshot of the error notice is attached. Any help would be appreciated. Stan

Hello Amal, Thanks very much for your reply. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Acrobat Pro, and that seems to have corrected the issue. I had probably messed something up when playing with settings. Anyway, thanks again, Stan

I am running Adobe Acrobat Pro v. 2023.006.20320 on my MacBook Pro that is running macOS Ventura 13.5.2. I frequently like to search for specific words in a pdf, and I used to get search results with the word highlighted as I would click through the occurences of the word in the document. But now that highlighting seems to have disappeared. The search result occurence word text is now in a blue color that is so close to black that they are difficult to find. There is no background highlight, or it is an imperceptible white. Is there some obscure but governing setting I could make or change (I assume in Acrobat Preferences) that would return the search results to having a light gray background highlight so they would be easier to see? Thanks for any assistance, Stan

The TK Icon is a small, circular icon on the various panels of Tony Kuyper's luminosity mask action panels. The letters "TK" are on the icon.

I have found the answer to this problem. I have Tony Kuyper's luminance mask action panels installed on my Mac computers. I just received an email from Tony today with some troubleshooting instructions that included the following for Mac computers: "...The second Mac problem concerns sluggish performance of some tools, like the Brush and Quick Selection tools, when TK7 modules are open. Again, I've not been able to reproduce this, but have four reports of it. The solution that worked in all these cases is to simply turn off the selection indicator. To do that: 1) Click the "TK" icon on each module. 2) Choose "Off" in the Selection Indicator drop-down menu...." This solution cleared up the sluggish tool problem.

I continue to have very slow tool response in Photoshop. I have updated to v22.1 running macOS 10.15.7 Catalina. In the past I have tried... I deleted preferences. it did not help. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Photoshop. It did not help. I tried with Third Party plug-ins disabled. It did not help. I uninstalled Third Party plug-ins. It did not help. I tried with the Photoshop>Preferences>Performance unchecking the Use Graphics Processor unchecked. It did not help. Let me redescribe the symptom to see if this will assist. I have a Tif format image file open. The file is 387 MB with three layers. I have flattened the file and its new size is 175 MB. I select the Lasso Tool and use it to draw a loop selection. It works fine with this first selection. I press the Shift Key and use the Lasso Tool to draw a second selection. The + sign appears at the Lasso Tool. When I click and drag the second selection, no selection line appears. And when I release the mouse click it takes approximately 5-10 seconds for the marching ants of the second selection to appear. This same behavior is there with both file sizes. I would appreciate any further advice you may have. Or if this is a bug in Photoshop (it sure seems to be a bug) please let me know if it will be addressed in an update. This difficulty and similar difficulties with other tools are very disruptive of workflow. Would appreciate any ideas. Or perhaps a knowledgeable Adobe person who can say whether this is a known problem and is being worked.

Running Photoshop 22.0.1 on a 2019 Mac Pro (macOS 10.15.7 Catalina) with plenty of RAM, scratch disk space, etc.
Some Photoshop tools are very slow.
For example, Lasso Tool used to draw small space to add to current selection takes approx 5 seconds to add selection. If I start a new selection with the Lasso Tool the first selection goes okay, but additional selections lag badly. Also, dragging the tool does not drag the marching ants line on the additional selections.
Same results with brush tool in Content Aware Fill preview when attempting to brush to add or delete content source pixels. If I brush out green selected area it takes 10-15 seconds for that area to disappear and CAF preview to update.
Would be great if this can get fixed soon. Or at least get an Adobe person to let us know the issue is being fixed.
