@patricktheart  If you lose your preferences in minor dot updates, something's wrong, like not having full administrator privileges in your user account.   With a major whole-number version update, preferences do not carry over, they never have. There is an option to migrate preferences, but I don't recommend it because of the high risk of accumulated errors carrying over as well.   As for actions, brushes, anything that can be saved out - save out and keep it in a safe place. I probably use the shift-command-4 feature five or six times a day in my work, and I most often go into Photoshop, select file, new, it intuitively makes it the size of my clipboard, i say OK. Then I use command V to paste the clipboard. I use this to start a new image the correct size for a website, I use it to grab photos quickly in preview windows, I use it every single day in my work as a professional UX Designer for the forest service. I am on a new mac laptop pro and I can no longer do this simple copy and paste workflow. What can you be thinking. I know countless designers, photographers, graphic designer who all use this. I just have to say, I am so so so so very disappointed that you don't use the Human Centered discipline for your product. Really? After 20 years? Wow, ever think of asking your users what they want? I must sound like a broken record in here by now, but damn it I cannot help but keep complaining!  Keith has said it pretty much in a nut shell as have others in here.  The "bundles"  are a joke to be honest.  Now that the ability to use lighting and make normal maps have been taken out of the current versions,  I am now paying for a "bundle" of crap I do not need just to get photoshop with reduced functions, and no reduction in price.  Did anyone ask the public/ the users what they need or want in a bundle?  I think not!  Do we have the option to create our own bundle?  Nope!  I use only photoshop, I have no use for any of the other things in my bundle but I have to pay for the whole shebang anyhow.  Yet a bundle for me would be Photoshop with lighting and normal map features, and Illustrator and that's it.  I really don't need or will I ever use the other programs I pay for in my bundle.  AND I am certainly NOT going to pay through the nose to get Subtance just to make a normal map or lighting options.  Adobe, you are making a lot of loyal long term customers very very unhappy!  You may well lose many of us over this money grabbing change.  You take away, don't give back, ask for more, and DO NOT LISTEN!     ...
