And here I am testing my hypothesis...  The reason I am going to award this as the correct answer is I am telling myself "it doesn't matter!  They're only mind cherries."

In the Beta testing we were told that you can check Correct Answer or Helpful to your own thread, but you do not get points for it.  Looks like your confirmed it.
