akmu, Hello.

As John T Smith says, every time you open a forum, you will be automatically logged in with your AdobeID, regardless of your login preferences.
Because you are logging in again, you may be asked to enter a 6-digit number if you have enabled 2-step verification for AdobeID. How about disabling 2-step verification with reference to the following document?
(Disabling 2-step verification increases security risks)

https://helpx.adobe.com/manage-account/using/secure-your-adobe-account.html/set-up-two-step-verifica...

I haven't set up 2-step verification, but I have never been asked to enter a 6-digit number when logging into the forum.
