It must be needed: the reports are being dealt with. Sometimes with a funny result, as in the Print Design forum:

I reported a new spam message in the appropriate thread, and it was removed swiftly, so the last post is now, again, by Neil.

However, with this funny forum format, the thread is still at the top.

Unfortunately, this seems to be the only way to bring at least his name back in view.

Yes, he is missed. And very justly.

And I also think the closed thread is very much needed, but a new one should be opened by JC with the hope of decreasing the chances of its been badly used.
