After the recent forum update, it's not possible to open user profiles in a separate tab. I'm referring the user profile link and popover located above the post.
Cmd-click opens the profile in the same tab (instead of opening in a separate tab); the contextual menu for the user name link doesn't have an option to open in a separate tab; and the user name in the popover isn't clickable at all anymore.
I hope that @Jeffrey_A_Wright can also help restore this functionality.

1. This platform is built & maintained by a 3rd party called Koros. Adobe has a separate team that communicates with Koros.
2. This platform never opened profiles in a new tab/window.
3. The info box on hover has never had a context menu.
4. With the exception of cosmetic changes & some new Profile Fields, the profile info box performs exactly as it did before the update.
5. As a Community Expert, you can read more about the New Profile Experience in the Back Room.
Hope that helps.

Hi Nancy,
Thank you for your reply.
Prior to the update, the user name in the popover box was clickable:
Now it's not clickable.
When it was clickable, Cmd-click on the user name opened the profile in a new tab (as expected). I did it countless times.
Now that this option is gone, there's no way to open the profile in a new tab at all. Developers removed the existing option, but didn't offer any other option, such as a contextual menu.
I'll add a comment to the New Profile Experience thread you mentioned; thanks for the link! As far as I can see, the consensus there is that the forum update provides a degraded experience.

Click/tap the forum data links — Avatar or Screen Name — to reach the Profile page.
Data inside the Info Box are not links. At best it's just some 'eye candy.'
The box changes to a SHOW state on OnMouseover, then abruptly HIDES OnMouseout. For me, it's impossible to click on anything inside the box because the slightest mouse movement makes the box HIDE.
I posted a screen capture showing these deficiencies several years ago but nothing was done about it. IMO, it's poorly conceived. It would be more user-friendly with OnClick/OnTap event-triggers. But that wasn't my decision to make. 😶

Before the recent update, the user name inside the info box was an active link.
And yes, it was poorly implemented. Like you mentioned, in most cases, mouse movements made the box hide.
However, after some struggling, I discovered that if I made sure to click at the very beginning of the user name, the link worked. And Cmd-click at that very point opened the user profile in a new tab, as expected.
Now, after the recent update, even this half-baked solution is gone.

Like I already mentioned, I don't have this contextual menu in any browser (on two machines).
Do you have an Open in New Tab menu?
