Don't assume, check the version number. Yesterday the bottom of the page

read "2.5.7". Currently the page reads:

I don't see that.

I assume in plain English that means jive was broken.

Well we fr*ggin know that already!  These forums have a LOT more unscheduled downtime it seems, as far as I can tell, compared to WebX.  Pathetic.

Does Adobe have any SLA with Jiveware, or did they neglect to check on that as well as checking whether the software would work correctly?

Feature request: gravatar integration

What is a gravatar?

A gravatar, or globally recognized avatar, is quite simply an image that follows you from site to site appearing beside your name when you do things. Avatars help identify your posts on blogs and web forums, so why not on any site?

I already have too many profiles on too many sites. Gravatar integration would be a simple way for me to make it easier to manage that.

I think you're missing the point a wee bit... What Ozwoman was trying to say was that a certain individual is on such a major ego trip that he/she's trying to port his/her avatar across all website forums where he/she is a participant or official.

At least the Edit function worked for you. About 10% of the time, it's gone for me, and no one has replied to my post - just gone.

Now, you see what likely happened to Phillip in another post. He ended up replying to something totally different. Yes, his post did not make sense in the context of that thread, but most of us have been in that dark, unhappy place on different fora.

I believe that they come and go. As you point out in your screen-cap, they were there then. Over the last few days, I've had pages without them, and pages with them. Why? I have no idea.

That poster obviously looked up, when on a page, where they were gone.

There is the "more like this" rubbish in the first screenshot but not the 'top participants'.

Completely inconsistent, buggy, crap software.

Did you miss the second screenshot I posted?  That is the main forum page view and I don't see it.  The only place I still see it is on the main, main, main page here: http://forums.adobe.com/index.jspa

I can't believe that with all the 'features' listed there that our mod (who seems to have all the answers), has the 'nerve' to post over there asking about his pretty little avatar. One would think that functionality is one important "feature" that we are missing here on the forums and that perhaps he he would post there about that, but no.

And even if that "feature" is so important to him then why is his avatar on here still the same knock off of the msn messenger icon?

If you wish to bring other priorities to the attention of Jive, register

on their site and post them. I don't care for many of the issues people

are posting here (I am actively opposed to some of them), I don't expect

you to care for most of the issues I want.

Let's see who is best at convincing Jive. My current best is having an

issue implemented 16 days and a configuration change 4 hours after

bringing it to Jive's attention

If you have so much pull with Jive. You could have them:

fix the log out while in midst of posting issue.

fix the being thrown into another forum when simply reading a thread that has been moved and automatically being subscribed to the moved thread and the new forum.

Increase the speed of accessing forums, and drawing objects and windows when you attempt to post a reply.

have adobe and Jive align there update schedule so that they update every two weeks instead of taking "possibly" up to 9 months. (Not I said possibly)

Because of your clout they ought to knock them out within 2 weeks.
