Hi
It's all in the title.
I just posted my first message and was surprised to see I couldn't change it after posting.
With all the online activity, it's difficult to spend time on one message. It seems much more convenient to just fire away and correct/add elements later. If one post author needs to add other messages to the initial post to correct mistakes and add crucial infos, it can quickly become confusing and tedious for everybody.
There's no way this wasn't considered before so I was curious why the option has been rejected, and to share my opinion as a newcomer.
Hi Dee,
Welcome to our Community. The ability to edit was being abused by spammers. When you've made enough posts, you will be able to edit. So far this is your second. In the meanwhile, you can ask a moderator to made the edits — either here or in the forum where you posted. Yes, this was discussed, and this is what staff decided.

This is absurd. What 'rank' do we have to 'achieve' to edit our own posts.
I really fail to see how a closed subscription only forum could be abused. Please provide a response that makes some sense.

oh it's abused. eg, we spend a lot if time banning spammers.
and i don't know how editing was abused by spammers, but if it helped them in any way, i'm glad it takes some quality posts to gain the ability to edit.

Could you please explain how it could be abused by spammers in a paid subscription forum? Surely there are other solutions such as suspending offenders rather than enforce regulations that create frustrations for genuine paid users.

as i already stated, "i don't know how editing was abused by spammers...". but now that i think about it about, some forum experts (and maybe all of us) aren't notified when a post is edited. ie, the spammer could post a reasonable message that's checked by an expert and then later has links added which is never rechecked.

This is not a "paid subscription forum" since anyone can sign up for a FREE Adobe account (no subscription required) and then post to the forums... which is what spammers do
