Hello,

It would be a welcome feature when reading these community forums if posted crash reports were collapsible. Perhaps they could be toggled individually or for the entire thread (or forum!).

That's it.

Thanks,

Pete

To begin with, crash logs don't belong in these user-to-user communities.  Crash logs are only useful to Technical Support agents who  request them to diagnose a problem.

UserVoice is for submitting product feedback and bug reports.

Nancy,

Adobe Community Forum posts concerned with troubleshooting some issue can quickly become saturated with crash reports or EtreCheck system profiles and the like. Many posters don't even wait to be asked and ammend these to their intial post. They seemed the defacto preferred practice. Hence my initial inquiry. I didn't know crash logs were frowned upon content in the user-to-user space. Thank you for the links and taking the time to delineate the various channels of communication. I appreciate it.

Fortunately, I don't see many crash logs posted here.  If you see an intrusive crash log that was not requested by staff, ask a moderator to move it to the Holding Room.

Ideally, crash logs should be separate attached files, not part of the actual message.  AFAIK, there's no way to discern a crash log from ordinary text.  So collapsing a crash log without collapsing everything else around it would be impossible.

Maybe we can have a NOTE added somewhere to the overview pages that says, "Crash Logs in replies will be removed" (or words to that effect).

@Nancy OShea I think the poster may also be referring to System Information from applications like Photoshop which do indeed feature in some posts and can be extremely useful in isolating issues around memory use, scratch disks, GPUs etc. Without it we are left getting vague, or misleading information, on system set up. We often request that info in diagnosing such issues and prefer it as text rather than unknown links to click on.

@ID-user As that information is just text I don't see how it would be collapsable.

System Info is not Crash Logs which can go on and on and on for many pages.

I agree they are different, but we rarely see them in the Photoshop forum (which I think is where the issue was raised) unless they have been requested.
