It's safe to say that the majority or users dislike the way Adobe Support Community mitigates for spamming and other issues, by removing the ability for "new" users to edit posts. Great way to kill the platform, since I can tell you, I'll probably never post here again. I'm human, and make mistakes, and that cannot be avoided no matter how new or seasoned I am. New users make mistakes too.

With that said.. the least you could do is warn users they will not be able to edit or delete BEFORE they post the message. This way they have a chance to omit the post, or take the time editing it properly first. It's a pretty big surprise afterward, considering close to zero other websites take this weird approach.

Also, if you are so worried about new users posts, then just don't let new users post anything at all. That would actually be an improvement from my perspective, instead of going against the natural order of a creative's thought process, and surprising everyone with a permanent solution after the fact.

Can you edit your Twitter tweets?  Most people can't.

All the tech platforms I am involved with require new users to earn their stripes the same as everyone.  It's a small price to pay to keep new trolls & spammers at bay.  Unlike Twitter, the more you participate here, the more access you have to other options like editing your own posts.  And you don't have to pay for it.  It's free.

Without any safeguards in place, this community and others like it would be a toxic wasteland that nobody would come back to.

@Nancy OShea Are you trying to say.. "Can I edit my Tweets"? I didn't know there were tweets that weren't Twitter. Not that you could correct your mistake there to sound more knowledgeable on the topic, because you can't. Too bad.

Even if I took into consideration your absurd comparision between the largest social media site in history, and this tiny community forum made specifically to help paying Adobe users.. then yes, I can at least delete my Tweets (on Twitter) and re-Tweet as intended, which I cannot do here. You think the creator of PDF would have the UX down by now.

Hey, maybe the community is spamming and acting out because they are frustrated with the lack of acknowledgement from Adobe, and so far I'm feeling a similar vibe honestly! Why don't you ask them WHY they are frustrated instead of punishing everyone, and convincing the world that nobody should ever need to edit their posts.

Very weird end game for a "community expert". Feeling the welcoming vibes already!

Thank you for the suggestion. Glad to hear we are making progress on this after a few years, and thousands of posts. UserVoice looks very useful. Not sure if that's where this critique is best sent, but happy to voice my Support Community frustrations there, along with the app related feedback.

@Rebel Editor,

I mention Twitter because Adobe Care has a support channel there.  Customers who require assistance with technical or billing matters can reach out to Adobe staff on Twitter:  https://twitter.com/adobecare

This user-to-user platform is leased by Adobe from a 3rd party company, Khoros.  Participation here consists mainly of unpaid forum volunteers like me & fellow product users like you. As a community, we endeavor to help one another with common "how to do this" questions and moderate users who violate community guidelines.  Adobe Staff particpation here is infrequent.

The lion's share of questions are answered by Community Experts and frequent forum contributors who use the software on a regular basis. We have no influence over policy decisions, how software is made or how this 3rd party platform works.  Such matters are outside our wheelhouse.
