Admins: What changed with this FAQ I posted?

When I initially composed and posted the FAQ for the Photoshop/Mac section at the following link...

http://forums.adobe.com/thread/421402?tstart=0

...I coded it to include the full size version of the following image, with the direct link just below it for the benefit of those pesky text-only participants (😞

Eyedropper-Focus-Infographic.png

I coded it to display the full-size (492pxW) image because the Jive image-shrinking routine was doing some bizarre distortion to the reduced version...where parts of the image looked smeared, as though a wet sponge had been dragged across a watercolor marker drawing. NOT the whole image, only parts of it! Never saw anything like it before.

But now, I see that the image doesn't appear at all, and the link to the image doesn't work, either. I'd be happy to edit it so it works, but I 'm curious about why it worked properly for a day or two, and now it doesn't?

Phos±,

I'm quoting your post in its entirety in the expectation that your image will sooner or later be replaced by a dead link.

Here's what experience has shown me during the last two weeks in these confounded forums:

If I use the camera icon and then use the "From your Computer" tab, my embedded images stay.

If, on the other hand, I use either the "Uploaded images" or "From the Web" tab, then my embedded images get replaced with a dead link, sometimes within a minute or two, sometimes after a few hours.  Same thing happens with images in quoted posts.

That's odd...

For this thread starter post I DID use the camera icon to upload the image from my hard drive; I'm aware of the queueing business, and I have had success using the camera icon method for the past couple weeks.

After I composed and submitted the opening message here I immediately had a look at my post. The image was there, displayed inline with the message, the way I intended.

Now, it no longer appears inline, but at least the link works to bring up the javascript overlay display of it. BUT THAT'S NOT WHAT I WANT!!!

THAT'S kind of the point I'm making. If I check once, and the post appears the way I want others to see it, why is it subsequently changed? Does this mean I'll have to come back and re-check EVERY post I make where I include an image? If I didn't want the image to appear inline with the message body, I would have tailored my post in a different manner.

Awww, man...Jumpin' Jeebus H. Chrysler on a pogo stick...

Now I'm seeing the image inline in this thread's starter post!

Whatever happened to the old tried-and-true "Compose a message, code in an image, have it appear?"

What could be simpler?

Jive seems to have managed to ƒu¢k up even something that simple and common.

And the image is still not showing up in the Photoshop forum... maybe you should try and re-edit it and see if that helps?

This what I saw when I choose to show in new window.

Evidently there is a problem in the file.

i think that you need to copy the whole code created for the pic. Paste that whole block into the HTML view

John hasn't been able to concentrate on getting Hosts set up entirely yet either. Among other things, the system is more complex with more levels of different kinds of permissions. It'll come, but we need to let him deal with bigger issues first.
