Bad webservice API performance

Something I just put into my client application for the webservice API

is the ability to log timestamps of all server requests. The numbers I

am getting over 3 runs during the last 10 minutes are:

Test sun 1 2 3 Average

Logging in: 12 17 10 13

Retrieving forum list: 27 23 32 27

Thread list for this forum: 10 12 10 11

All numbers in seconds. The login script is home-brewn since the

customizations broke the official API published in the

PermissionsService (and according to an Adobe official login is

unavailable: "We're in the process of discussing possible workarounds

and options to make this possible, but for the moment, this will not

work."). The request to get all forums is a call to

getRecursiveCommunities() and the request to get a thread list is a call

to GetThreadsByCommunityID(3384).

So I guess the slowness of the web interface isn't caused by the all the

fancy boilerplating, but just by the speed limitations of the underlying

software platform
