Emailed notifications strip formatting and embedded images, but correct-answer emails don't?!?

Why don't emailed notifications contain text formatting and embedded images? Khoros clearly has the capability, since emailed notifications of correct answers do contain all the formatting and embedded images.  Incredibly frustrating that something so trivial hasn't been fixed after all these months.
