I bet the forums will be even quieter than on a normal weekend!

I think the downturn in user participation that John C referred to elsewhere was also due to the slow, slow, stop behaviour over the recent months.

If people can't get in without delays or retries they won't bother.

What an unholy MESS!

Now I have lost my name permanently it seems because it was originally attached to an e-mail account with an ISP who was taken over by another company.

So I have had to re-register with a hyphenated name and I am incensed!

Ah, but you smell good! ;)
NNTP seems unaffected by the log in for now.

Linking the forum account to the Adobe ID is a big mess

I managed to link my Id account after I went to the store and edited my
adobe Id. I updated my address.
This allowed me to link my id, after a few tries.

After that I got to log into forums (web version) but had to re-login a
quite a few times when switching forums.
NNTP still fine.

There's a message there.

Who am I?

Just lost my usename too. To many logins for me.

Once you login, then refresh page you're logged out again.

ps: maybe a comment at the top of each forum to tell users what's going on and how long would help - good practice anyway.

I hope the user forums are staying the same, because the cfusion ones are unusable.

Red flags are pretty random too. This is my second attempt at posting this ... 'Post Message' chucks me back to the log-in screen although I'm logged in right now.

It's similar to the way the Dell forums went a few months back. Had to create and register new logins and email addresses because every wrong attempt would lock out the old ones.

Plus the forum design itself was/is awful (and about 20 times slower).

But my attempts are correct. I get to where I'm going, can even make an occasional post. Then I get logged out again. 2-second cookies?????

I just kept logging in every time I was asked and eventually it stopped (for the moment) asking.

No name changes necessary.

I think it is clear that this is not the switch over we have been told about, but the just rationalisation of log-in names.

No name change required for me. But -- a LOT of logging in again. And again. And...

And the old flags do go away after log-in.

I had one new cookie yesterday. That's all.

I noticed that www.adobeforums.com is using a new session cookie instead of a permanent one, which is the same mistake they made last time.

During the same session, I get randomly logged out. I'm in, I write a post, I hit 'Post Message', I'm out. Therefore, there's something wrong apart from a cookie only lasting until I close that browser. Witchcraft?

It would be nice if there weren't this level of disconnect. Programmers make a living by letting management think it's all witchcraft.

I am getting really irritated at having to login EVERY time I come back. This is the same damn thing that happened the last time! Now just image what life may be like when the REAL switch occurs.

Will somebody fix this mess?
