I found a post from 2014 but it seems to refer to a version of the forum software that is not this one.
I can't figure out how to quote a previous post.
thanks

There's no manual for the community, the closest guide you can find it's here.
Quoting is a feature that hasn't been available yet, but it should be launched within the next couple of weeks.

We're going to be able to quote soon?

Um, but I've seen people quoting posts. The excerpt shows up as a coloured block.
so what are they doing?

Look at the dates. No doubt what you're seeing are old posts that were migrated from the old forum platform Jive to this newer one Khoros. Khoros doesn't support quoting yet.

No they are quoting me from yesterday.

Maybe you meant tagging? Tagging a person is different than quoting content. If you wish to tag someone on a post, simply type @ and start typing the person's username 🙂

I don't think what Conrad did was using the quoting feature from the community. I've seen it and it doesn't have a purple background, it's completely different formatting (light grey and in Italic) Maybe he did this himself? I've seen other users doing similar things.

Right. It looks like a custom blockquote inserted with the HTML option.
For anyone who is interested, this is the code I used above.
<blockquote style="background-color: #ececf9; padding: 12px;">"I don't think what Conrad did was using the quoting feature from the community."</blockquote>
