Modify Date Column

Using the new Photoshop forum I am wondering if the Modify Date column actually works. 

I am assuming that the Modify columns reflects the last time the post was updated.

I took a post 20 minutes old and edited it.  Modify and Last Post date stayed the same.

I then edited and checked the edit box.  Again no change in the columns.

I then took a post 2 days old and did the same thing with edits.  Again the Modify and Last Post still stayed at 2 days.

What gives?

I think the Modify Date only changes if a new post is added to a topic.  It remains unchanged if such a post (e.g. spam) is deleted.

Is it intended that way?  I don't know.
