Since there is a current topic of a new 404 error, and all old topics on the original 404 have been archived, I here open a new topic on this original - and still persisting - 404 error. The sample links below are part of this topic http://forums.adobe.com/thread/635893
The error occurs when clicking on the 'Last Post' link on any topic. Hovering the mouse pointer over the link, the browser shows the link as
When actually clicking on the link, it is redirected to
http://forums.adobe.com/message/?tstart=0#2823709
i.e. all that jsessionid part is removed, but producing an invalid link that shows as a 404 error.
The above link should really be (in order to work; I don't know why the post number must appear twice in the URL)
http://forums.adobe.com/message/2823709?tstart=0#2823709
Ok, you may ask why I bring up this old, well-discussed error again:

That is issue CS-17805. Jive currently lists it as a P3 issue without a
schedule for a fix.

I just reported something similar to Jive. First visit to the forums with IE8, click on the number next to a reply and have the sessionID added to the URL. They said they can't reproduce. I get it every time. I will ask them if it is related to the issue listed.

It is the same issue. If they can't reproduce it, make the case public
and I'll add some details.

Thanks. I know how difficult it is for software developers to fix errors that cannot be reproduced.
The error does not always occur; in fact it happens to me in about 1 times out of 10. When it happens, e.g. in the Flash Player forum, then all 'Last Post' links contain the 'jsessionid' part that produces the 404 error.
An easy circumvention: hitting the Refresh key (F5 on most browsers) may make it disappear.
A possible way to reproduce: hitting the Refresh key repeatedly may actually bring the 'jsessionid' (and the error) back.
My environment(s): Windows 2000, Windows XP, IE6, IE7, FF3.6.
