Apprently all Mozilla product's using the new Gecko engine 1.9.1 and above (which includes Seamonkey 2).  IT apparently is having a Problem with Adobe's threading system

SeaMonkeypicture001.png

Regardless of what you set on there is no threading in the Adobe Forums. All other mailbox files I have sort as the should example :

SeaMonkeypicture002.png

It there a javascript that can be put in that will ignore anything in the Brackets?

Has the threading system broke. can the item in brackets be moved to end of the subjects?

Gecko is the rendering engine. The rendering engine is not responsible

for threading, so any problems that exist in threading are unrelated to

the Gecko version.

Regardless of what you set on there is no threading in the Adobe Forums.

Correct. As has been discussed before the forums do not send the correct

headers to allow a MUA to thread email. That issue has been reported to

Jive, they have reported it fixed for version 4. Adobe does not have a

schedule for an update to version 4 yet.

The item in brackets is not responsible for the lack of threading. See

http://forums.adobe.com/message/1885009#1885009 for details.

This has nothing to do with the threading within the Forums. This has to do with threading of the email announcements. your link above refers to threading of the forum items themselves.

As much as it would seem, I do not sit and stay in the Forums 24/7 I have other email and newsgroups I read, so I depend on the email announcements to tell me when subjects, or forums I have subscribed to, have new post. I click on the link, go to that thread(s), and up until my switch to SeaMonkey 2 which is the latest release available, I didn't have this problem.

We had a similar here at the begining casuse by having the message numbers attached to the end in brackets. It was figgured how to suppress the in the notifications and Everything was threaded.

A possible Cure would be this time to the items in the brackets at the end of the subject. Not the begining or Supress them altogether.

I have this question also posted in the mozilla.support.seamonkey group. Maybe they can figure out some code I can put into chrome to suppress the brackettd items.one thing

I've noticed. in the Adobe announcements are handled  as:

[Adobe General Forums forum comments] I .....

[Adobe General Forums forum comments] RE: I ....

While regular email from forums list and such handle as follows:

[Adobe General Forums forum comments] I .....

RE: [Adobe General Forums forum comments] I .....

I think that when I refer to a message I wrote myself I do know what it

is about.

We had a similar here at the begining casuse by having the message numbers attached to the end in brackets. It was figgured how to suppress the in the notifications and Everything was threaded.

It was grouped by subject. For the difference see the link I provided.

A possible Cure would be this time to the items in the brackets at the end of the subject.

If you are looking for grouping by subject you just need to configure

your MUA. If you are looking for threading, it is not possible in the

absence of References and In-Reply-To headers.

I have this question also posted in the mozilla.support.seamonkey group. Maybe they can figure out some code I can put into chrome to suppress the brackettd items.

It is probably much easier to use a Sieve or deliver script on your MTA

to rewrite the headers. Check your email server documentation.
