Buying a new laptop for Premier Pro

Im buying a new laptop to edit premier pro and after effects on, Im using HD/4K footage, my budget is around £800 and I want something that is lightweight. Do not want a Dell, quite happy with HPs. Not going to bother with any Macs

At that budget, you may have to do a serious compromise. At the very least you want a four-core, eight-thread CPU plus 16 or more GB of RAM for that kind of source material. However, you may have to settle for a lousy GPU or even an integrated IGP, plus a slow (5400 RPM) hard disk only (no SSD), in order to get the laptop system budget to that low of an amount.

If on the other hand you get a decent m.2 SSD plus a decent discrete GPU in that laptop for such a low price point, you may have to settle for a substandard (dual-core or worse) CPU and less than recommended (8GB or less) RAM.

In other words, there is no free lunch.
