Hello,

Trying to build a new super computer with windows 7 pro 64 bit and production premium CS6.

I am trying to figure out if the nvidia geforce 1070 / 1080 gpus will work with the OS and the GPU.

I use PPRO, AE, PS, Encore, Audition

Any information is appreciated.

Thanks for your help,

J

Hi Bill,

thanks for the info

at which point i can continue with the build

and get one of the new m.2 samsung's when they arrive

1) my basic plan (all ssd's)

c: os (windows 7 64 bit)

d: media cache

e: final render

f/g/h/i/j: footage

i'm thinking of using the m.2 for 'final render' drive

2) the reason for 2 gpus is to run more than 4 displays

4 in the main editing room (for audio and/or video)

1 in the vocal booth

1 projector in the big room

(and room to expand)

cheers,

j

Hi Bill. it is the Asus X99II Deluxe board with the i76850K. I have eight sticks of G.Skill's TRIDENT DDR4 2300 8Gig for a total of 64Gig. I only fitted the other four sticks today. I am very happy with the setup now.

Regards.

How are you getting your two potential M.2 SSD's in that Asus X99 Deluxe II as it only has one M.2 connector?

Mike, to reply to your other comment, I am the jolly young age of 85!  But this activity is keeping me going.

The ASUS X99 Deluxe II comes with one M2 slot on the motherboard, with a supplied vertical riser to fit the drive, and a PCIe card to fit a second M2 drive.

Hi Bill. Alan has answered your question before I could respond. It has one vertical M.2 slot at the front of the board nearest to the front intake fans. This will help keep it cool when it's under a prolonged heave load. The Deluxe II comes with an additional PCIe M.2 riser card as standard. My intention is to fit a 1Tb M.2 in the vertical riser position as my main drive and a 256Gb M.2 on the riser card as my scratch drive. As I'm sure you are aware Bill the secret of a long and happy life is to keep learning something new every day. Nice to talk to you again Bill.

Cheers for now.

Mike Irish and yes you guest it I'm from Ireland.

I am editing smoothly XAVC-S from my Sony FDR-AX100 4k at 100 Mbit/s with ease on my i7-4700HQ 24GB with a GTX 765M GPU with CS6.  But CS6 will not accept Sony's "professional" XAVC. I also do have some 4K GoPro media which I can edit.

Mike I have a X99E-WS board so you would see this in my system.

Notice the Samsung 960 installed on the motherboard.  I have 3 other brands of M.2 to PCIe adapter boards.
