External SSD Question

I am running PE 2018 on my Windows 10 (Dell Inspiron 5000 laprop). My laptop has an HDD and not an internal SSD. I  bought a Samsung T5 (500 GB) to store my media on.  Can I  or should I move the Premiere Elements software to this external ssd since it should be faster than my internal hard drive?
