Full time traveling laptop recommendation

Hi all,

I’m going to travel full time in a few months and I would like to be able to do what I do on my current desktop. I am a photographer and I sue Lightroom and Photoshop. Recently I started with video and will use premiere pro, but I have a limited budget and since I am going to backpack I need a light laptop.

The perfect one would be something like the MSI PS42 8RB which has 16gb of RAM, an i7-8550u and a MX150 GPU or a Dell XPS 13 with the same specs (except for the GPU). Due to limited budget (and wanting to avoid carrying a +£1000 laptop) I would prefer something cheaper. Also the i5-8250u is only 20% slower so it should be enough. My issue is that all laptops will come with 8GB of ram, and the biggest issue is that we are talking about soldered RAM…

So, what laptop would you recommend on the 13/14” size, up to 1.5kg with this CPU and that is possible to upgrade to 16gb? Or 8gb will work out?

Thank you
