Hello,
I'm wondering if anyone can shed any light onto a problem I cannot work my head around. I'll state now that I'm not madly familiar with
computing and specs (I'd be glad if anyone can point me in the direction of some material that will help me gateway into understanding more, as I need to!).
I'm away from the machine itself, so will update specs tomorrow afternoon but it's a Windows 10 machine, running a 1080ti and 32GB RAM.
When looking at Activity Monitor (along with another diagnostic plugin I cant remember the name of at the moment) all the work is done by the
CPU, absolutely NOTHING is going into the GPU on playback, scrubbing, importing into bins etc.
I do have to improve the fans, I know that - diagnostics have shown the machine to be running hotter than I thought.
I've looked through all properties and and selected CUDA over software but this doesn't appear to make any difference.
Many thanks in advance and apologies if there's any glaring things missed out of here.
Cheers

Are you using CUDA supported effects?
How much VRAM does your 1080Ti have?

Hi Bob,
The example project I've been using to test my system only uses Lumetri on a few small clips, has Dynamic Link to After Effects for sequences (sequence consists of footage @ 1080p with colour/text matte in multiply blend mode and text overlaid with animation on it) and music. It's not a complex arrangement at all and my precious machine would have gobbled this type of project up no problem.
What I can't understand is that working inside any of Adobe's apps the GPU does not become active, it's all on the CPU.
I've ran an online GPU test and it's proved my GPU works and shows its limits also.
Computer specs are:
Windows 10
Intel i7 7800X @3.50GHz
32GB Ram
NVIDIA 1080ti 12GB VRAM
Any ideas at all? I'm running CC 13.0.1
Thanks,
Matt

Try updating or rolling back your graphics driver directly from the video card manufacturer’s site.
You may have to try a few different drivers. Always do a clean install.

Hi Bob,
I've just downloaded a set of drivers rolling back to 2018, I'll try them.
When you say about doing a clean install, do you mean for me to delete Premiere Pro CC and reinstall that, then the driver?
Thanks,
Matt

No.
There are two options when installing drivers:
1) Write over the old driver
2) Completely uninstall the old driver and install the new driver.
When installing drivers , it should give you the option for a clean install if you do a custom install of the driver.
