GPU Expansion

Hi all

Just a general question around GPU expansion. I'm on a new Mac Pro/trashcan and like a lot of people have been frustrated by the fact you can't swap

out the graphics card, the optimal aim being to move away from AMD back to glorious Nvidia being a better match with Prems.. Will i get perfomance/render improvement if I add a GPU expansion box (What’s the Deal with GPU Expansion, Anyway?) via thunderbolt and throw a Nvidia card into that?
