Intel i9 9900k vs AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2950x

Hi Guys,

Looking to upgrade and can't decide between these two. I'll be working in Premiere and After Effects but Premiere predominantly. I need something fast for 4k multi-cam projects that are also effects intensive. Is the AMD TR that much better and also a good idea for future proofing? Also knowing that the i9 9900k only takes up to 64GB of RAM. I've read a lot of mixed reviews about the two so far, looking for some solid points to help me decide. Some are saying Adobe programs aren't designed to utilise all 16 cores yet, others are saying the opposite.

this article that pushed me thought i9 9900k, is it true????

(Best Processor (CPU) for 3D Modeling and Rendering

For Active Work: Intel i9 9900K

As explained above, you’ll have to make a decision depending on what you will use your computer most for.

Do you use it mainly to Model, Sculpt, Texture, Light, Animate and you spend much more time actively on it, than rendering on it?

Then you’ll want a CPU that is clocked as high as possible,

Intel i9 9900K, Intel i7 9700K, Intel i7 8700K, intel i7 8086K, AMD Ryzen 2700X

For Render Work? AMD Threadripper CPUs such as the Threadripper 2950X!

Do you use this Workstation less for active work on and more to Render out your Projects? Do you spend more time on Rendering than on actually sitting in front of it?

You should consider going into a high core-count direction which are the best CPUs for Rendering (Or if you want a second Computer just for Rendering on).

Good choices here are:

AMD Threadripper 1900X, 1920X, 1950X, 2950X, 2990WX – 8-32 Cores – Highly Recommended!

Intel i9 7900X, 7920X, 7960X, 7980X – 10-18 Cor,)

I have difficulty choosing between 2950x 4.2ghz or 9900k 5ghz ( Hack.) for 3ds Max modeling 100% Revit, and Adobe app… ,and

rendering 20% corona vray lumion.

and hackintosh !!! hackintosh since 2009.

without the possibility to install mac os on pc I chose 2950x 100%

ASUS ROG Zenith Extreme Alpha AMD X399 vs ASUS ROG Maximus XI Extreme Z390

so what is the best choice?

Thanks
