Would appreciate some advice about what type of modern HDD would be best for video storage in my system. Are NAS drives a good choice for internal storage?
Need to replace 5-year-old Seagate Barracudas (legacy from my old system) probably with a pair of 4TBs. Should mention my new system has an i7-8700K w/ 32BG Ram and two M.2 slots. I use a 512GB M.2 SSD for OS/Software and another 1TB M.2 SSD to hold media for active projects.
Are 7200rpm NAS drives the way to go for additional storage? Given all my other fast components (and better transfer rates for newer HDDs) would I notice much speed difference with large cache 5400rpm drives? Any particular brands or model lines seem to be more quiet and/or reliable?
